Dr. Fred J. Kim received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2003. Being a long term native of the South Bay area along with his desire to be closer to family and friends, it only seemed natural that he return to the area for private practice.

I have been a client of Dr. Kim’s since we moved to Redondo over 10 years ago. I was very lucky I chose the best dentist in the area! Dr. Kim is a perfectionist and will make sure you are beyond satisfied with your procedure. He is also a very nice and personable person. The hygienists are all highly skilled and super friendly. The front office staff are awesome to deal with as well. I honestly enjoy going to the dentist because everyone there makes me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Pacific Smiles.

I had 2 large fillings replaced today and had a bit of anxiety about it prior to coming in. I had a 9 am appointment and was walking out the door by 9:35. Dr. Fred Kim and his assistants were VERY quick and efficient. I felt no pain or discomfort the entire process. I have never had such a great experience at the dentist! I am so glad I found Pacific Smiles!

I never thought I could use the words “absolutely incredible” when describing a dental office until I came across Pacific Smiles. I needed six front teeth removed (upper arch) and then have implants done to replace them. I found Dr. Kim in Redondo Beach and selected him because of the description of his services and abilities on his web site and his patient reviews of those services. I could have had an oral surgeon do the implants but had the confidence that Dr. Kim do all of the necessary work. He did the extractions (without anesthesia) and it was done virtually painless for me. He then made me a temporary bridge for the 3 month period you wait for the implants to settle in. I didn't have to use a "flipper." Dr. Kim also

I have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist, and this is the only office I've ever been where I feel comfortable. Daniella and Andrea have taken SUCH good care of me. They remember my flavor preference, and always check in to see if I'm nervous or have any pain. They are EXTREMELY gentle, even with the plaque buildup that always ends up behind my permanent retainer.
And of course my anxiety is worse with covid... But everyone in the office is double masked with a face shield. Their glove procedure is perfect, every room has a high power air filter... And the office is spotless, which was true

After having a pretty bad experience at another unnamed dental practice in Hermosa, about a year ago I decided to give Pacific Smiles a try. And I can honestly say it’s the been best experience I’ve had at any dentist. Everyone that works there is super nice, down to earth, and they don’t try to upsell you on services you don’t need. Andrea does my cleanings and she is awesome!

This office is fantastic! All of the staff are friendly, relatable, and knowledgeable! I don’t know if I’ve ever enjoyed going to the dentist so much. My cleaning wasn’t just cleaning my teeth, Jill equipped me with new techniques on how to care for my mouth better without me feeling guilty, etc. And I went back (within the same month) to have some work done. Dr. Hannah (first name) has finesse! I was in and out, my teeth feel amazing, not too much numbing, I was offered a blanket, received a pillow, and I’m pretty sure I dozed off within the hour. Pacific Smiles is AMAZING! I had my 5 year anniversary with them this past week. I came after a long time away from a dentist.
The first two years I needed cleanings pretty close together. Instead of saying they needed more money they worked with my insurance and calendar so I didn’t go out of pocket. Their thoughtfulness included charging me much less for a surface level cavity they didn’t have to use a full shot on.
EVERY member of the office is friendly. They’ll greet you by name when you walk in. Expect caring conversations about your dental health minus the shaming or ‘selling’

Dr. Kim is, simply, the best dentist anywhere. He does everything in office and it's always perfect! When I came to Dr Kim, I had several cavities, though the cavities were obvious - one on a front tooth - my Manhattan beach dentist didn't catch them, which leads me to tell you about his equipment. Dr. Kim is an excellent dentist AND his equipment is state of the art. I was given great prices and excellent care! I love Dr Kim!!!
