The Louisiana Nursing Home Association is a nonprofit organization representing more than 250 nursing facilities and assisted living communities that care for approximately 25,000 elderly and disabled individuals each day. On behalf of our members, LNHA advocates for providing quality care and nurturing environments to Louisiana's frail and elderly.

Services
LNHA offers a respected legislative voice to support nursing facilities, the long term care profession and the residents we serve. LNHA offers seminars throughout the year at various locations statewide, providing continuing education for various disciplines working in the long term care profession.
With the 78 million baby boomers either entering or approaching retirement, the United States is on the cusp of a major and unprecedented expansion of its senior population. In the past 50 years, we have seen the average life expectancy after 60 increase dramatically. 70% of us will need long term care after age 65, yet few of us openly discuss care needs and wishes.

Volunteering can be one of the most rewarding activities of your life, and the positive change you can make to someone who lives in a nursing facility is immeasurable.
The Louisiana Long Term Care Foundation (LLTCF) awards nursing scholarships to nursing students of high academic and caregiving caliber to pursue a career in long term care. Thanks to generous donations, in 2020 we were able to award 13 scholarships to students who displayed a passion for serving Louisiana's elderly and frail.
A new Long-Term Care Partnership Program in Louisiana offers a way for Louisiana citizens to protect their assets if they ever need to apply for Medicaid services. The initiative encourages citizens to partner with the state-based program as they purchase qualified private long term care insurance policies.
