Choosing the right eye doctor in Safford, AZ is a big decision. It's been said that the eye is the window to the soul. The eye is also a window into your health! In the eye, the circulatory, muscular, and nervous systems all converge making it a unique organ to observe general physical health. It's also been said that you don't see in your eyes, you see through your eyes.

The eyes are sensory organs which convert photons to chemical impulses to be sent to various parts of the brain to be processed into "vision". Vision is the ability to use light to understand what is seen, and form meaningful actions or reactions. Vision also integrates the other senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing and proprioception.

Dry eye disease (or syndrome) is a chronic and progressive condition that affects about 30 million people in the United States. 10% of dry eye patients suffer from a lack of tears. 80% suffer from evaporative issues that are very commonly traced back to oil producing glands in the lids that don't function properly.
Are you currently suffering from macular degeneration? This is a condition that tends to get very bad over time. It is a disease that happens within your eyes, causing you to have a blank spot directly ahead of you, caused by the degeneration of the retina. If this is addressed early enough, the condition can be maintained although there is no actual cure.
Dilation is generally safe but not without side effects. The drops used to dilate often burn when applied. Ten to fifteen minuets are usually required to obtain a full dilation, and the dilation affect can last several hours to a few days. Blurred vision and sensitivity to sunlight can also make it difficult to safely drive or return back to work or school.

I would give more than five stars if I could! Dr Ferrin and the staff have always been great. On two different occasions my wife and I have had eye issues on a weekend. One of those weekends he wasn't available and although my wife had to see someone else at a different office he followed up to make sure everything went well.
On the other occasion he came down on a Saturday evening just to make sure the problem I was having wasn't something that required further attention. We'll never go anywhere else!

Went to get my oldest son's eyeglass prescription checked since he's been having trouble focusing with his current pair. We had a morning appointment and no other customers were there so we didn't have to wait long and then they breezed through the exams with him and we were in and out quickly, all of the staff is friendly which was good too.
