Somewhere In Time Antiques is located on the Historic Strand Street on Galveston Island, Texas. I have been at this location on the Strand in the Galveston Historical District for over thirty years. I have been involved with antiques my entire life as my parents owned and operated an antique store in Illinois for more than 40 years.
Here are some FAQ about Estate Sales that I conduct in the greater Galveston area as well as details on my next scheduled sale! An Estate Sale is the sale of one's personal property or assets. This would include furniture, china, antiques, jewelry, yard, and garage items and basically all your household items.
Garage FULL of tools, power tools, wood working, electrical, plumbing, yard, extra large extension ladder, Grills, etc. This charming, raised Cottage is chock full of Antiques, Art, and Contemporary furnishings. This sale is nothing like our normal sales. But it will be interesting none the less. This is a hoarder type house full of all kinds of things.

Poor customer service. The clerk needs to learn how to interact with customers. Was going to make a $ 500.00 purchase and yes I asked if there was any room for a discount. I heard the conversation she had with the owner and she encouraged the owner by stating it’s only been in the shop for a short time so no discount should be given. That’s fine we… would have paid full price until the clerk came around and started to lecture me on how I shouldn’t expect her to give a discount because she has bills to pay and she can’t just lower the price …A simple sorry,

Adorable antique store with tons of stuff I’ve never seen antiquing like legit old OLD clothes, top hats, womens hats, gloves, etc amidst lots of other stuff typically found in antique stores. So many cool lamps I’d take home if I wasn’t flying! Very clean and organized, not over cluttered like many antique stores.

Galveston's hidden gem off the Strand! Visiting Somewhere in Time is absolutely worthwhile. There's absolutely something for everyone here particularly that one gift to find for the person who seemingly has everything. Even browsing! There is something special to see each and everywhere you gaze; a brief interaction with history's pre-internet days while having a mindful meditation of your own mortality and wondering what material stuff we will inevitably leave behind one day for future antique shop explorers.

We visited here in March 2020, right as Americans were starting to admit that COVID-19 was worth paying attention to. We were proceeding with caution (relative - not compared to now!) and avoiding big crowds - but not fully aware yet. This stop was nice and chill with very few patrons (just us for a while). Perfect.
So many antique shops are junk and/or totally fake. This place is LEGIT. They have some wonderful stuff - check out my pictures. I challenge you to walk in this shop and not find at LEAST one SOMEthing you can

Love this place! Also they do Estate Sales with extremely reasonable prices. I got some LV padlocks that were very tarnished. Used some Wrights Copper Cleaner and some rubbing--they look brand new! Blinding bright. Can't wait to see what they have next! I love the owner--always so very helpful and friendly! You have a customer for life! Lola

Located on the beautiful island of Galveston, this antique shop is a must see! We were delighted to find this place as it was loaded with a fine selection of various hard to find antiques and collectibles. We loved shopping here and the staff was friendly & could answer all our questions. We highly recommend you go there.

My boys, 13 & 10, & I were walking the Strand & my older son said, "Somewhere In Time!! It's an antique store!! Cool name huh!!!". I was a little shocked that both boys were so anxious to go in & have a look around. After all, I'd have thought they would've wanted ice cream, candy, or to even go into the haunted house that is set up on the Strand. Antiques?!? I'm game!!!
We walked in & the 3 of us just stared in amazement at all of the cool stuff they had!!! Weird to see a basket of coins for sale from Hurricane Ike, or the actual brown water line

An interesting little antique shop. I collect antique pins, well my friends call them "Brooches" but I think that word makes the accessories sound too high falutin. Anyways, this place had a nice little collection and I got a new pin of two black cats. I have two black living felines so it was super funny to me. Other things were overpriced, some things priced spot on, this is one of those places that you never know what they'll have so just go in and look around. Make sure you check out the Ike Water Line way up high on the wall behind the cash register.
