Services
Hearing aids worn in the ear are usually custom-fit, based on a cast or impression of the ear. They're available in different skin tones to camouflage with the outer ear. There are several styles - each is listed below, ranging from smallest to largest. The smallest custom style, IIC instruments site invisibly in or past the second bend of the ear canal.
Just like any piece of advanced technology, there is a wide variety of hearing aid styles available to patients to choose from. The ones you decide upon depend on the functions you need as well as your budget. Other factors to consider as you choose a hearing aid style include esthetic appeal and your level of hearing loss.
As a musician, you are regularly exposed to dangerous levels of sound. I've been wearing hearing aids for years and one died. I was able to set up an appointment with Melissa just a couple of days out and was amazed that she called two days later (that's right - TWO DAYS) to let me know my new hearing aids had arrived!! I brought my mom to Melissa for hearing aids four years ago. She was so patient, compassionate and kind to my mom. She explained everything slowly and clearly so mom could understand. Unfortunately, mom was just not cognizant enough to handle the daily ins and outs of hearing aids, so we didn't purchase any. After a recent visit to the ENT confirmed my hearing loss, I knew where I needed to go for hearing aids.

A few weeks ago, I got a recommendation for NOLA Hearing Center. I went to the appointment, which began on-time. The audiologist, Melissa, has a doctorate in audiology; and it was evident from the time I spent in the Center that Melissa knows what she is doing. She explained a number of issues to me; she answered my questions helpfully and very courteously. My hearing aid arrived less than a week later, at which time Melissa showed me how to put it in (and take it out), how to clean it, how to charge the battery. I had a terrific experience at NOLA Hearing, and would highly recommend it. Dr. Melissa Duthu is not one to push patients into buying the highest priced items. Her concern is clearly what's best for you. She's also a very good educator, and terrifically patient. It's a process learning how to deal with your hearing aids - it took me four or five visits. I very much enjoyed working with Melissa during this period of time.

Dr. Melissa Webb Duthu is an incredibly competent and very intelligent audiologist/hearing specialist. I want to shout and exclaim this to the masses! Nola Hearing was a great place to bring my 2 year old for hearing testing. Dr Melissa Duthu was super sweet and very p[atient with my son!!! Came here to drop off my mom's hearing aid to get repaired. Dr. Melissa Webb Duthu told us that she could ship it to the factory to have it repaired for $275, plus tax. After about seven days she called us back and said there was something wrong with the "door" on the hearing aid and it would cost $325 to repair it instead. (There was nothing wrong with the "door" on the hearing aid.) We told her to just send it back to us instead of accepting the extra charge. So my mom had to be without a working hearing aid for that much longer. She felt isolated and depressed for that
