The mission of Shoreline Ballet is to provide students with the highest quality dance education and an environment where every student is valued and respected. Our goal is to train both new and experienced students in the art of dance. We seek to provide a 'well rounded' and flexible dance education for the pre-professional student as well as diverse and new experiences for recreational students.
We believe that ballet training- with its emphasis on strength, grace, and discipline- is the best foundation for all dance forms. We therefore recommend that all students attend weekly ballet classes to advance their training. We know the study of dance requires continuity, and in order to help build proper technique and stamina, we encourage students to devote time and effort to their class work.

Services
Danita Shaheen is a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher, and certified Pilates instructor from New York. Join us for our third annual Young Choreographers Showcase as we celebrate the achievements of six of our students. These students were selected after an application process. Shoreline Ballet is located on the 3rd floor of the Parkview Plaza shopping center.
We are thrilled to announce the return of our Shoreline Ballet Student Company for our 2021-2022 season! Students entering into Levels 5,6 & 7 are encouraged to audition and accepted students will be placed in either our junior or senior company. We will hold two auditions prior to the start of our semester.
We are so excited to have our students return to the stage this Spring. The Durham Fairgrounds provide a perfect outdoor environment to allow audience members plenty of space to spread out. Please bring your own chairs and blankets for seating. Due to current state guidelines we can only allow a maximum of 200 audience members.

I have nothing but good things to say about Shoreline Ballet. The teachers are exceptional- Providing professional, high quality instruction. They are dedicated, respectful, fun, supportive and kind! The dance space at the studio is beautiful and inviting. And the mid and year-end performances are exquisite. We are so happy to be part of the Shoreline Ballet family!
