Adaptive equipment such as reachers, raised toilet seats, personal care aids, transfer aids and home accessories.
Most falls in the home occur in the bathroom, either getting in/out of the tub or shower or getting on/off the toilet. With the right design and the appropriate equipment, the bathroom can be a safe place that promotes both independence and dignity. The products on our site are based on our years of experience and knowledge from lessons learned.
This is another area of the home that presents problems for many people with mobility deficits. It can be a problem just getting in/out of bed, posing a high risk of falling. Installing the appropriate adaptive equipment to help with bed mobility can reduce this problem. Proper lighting is also important to consider.
Being able to get out of the house is not only an independence issue, it is also a safety issue. Everyone should have a safe egress in case of an emergency. Sometimes a ramp constructed from wood is not appropriate for the available space. That's when a portable ramp is needed. It is always important to make sure that the slope is not too steep for a safe ride out the door.
