Since 1987 we've been helping Twin Cities area residents have confidence in the safety of their water supply with water softeners and water treatment systems.
Ensure that your reverse osmosis membrane is still in good condition and that your system is still sanitized and effectively removing sediments and contaminants that add color and odor to your water. Our technicians can test your water for hardness and let you know what steps to take in order to eliminate your hard water problem.
Water softener salt comes in a few different forms (including cubes, blocks, etc.) but we keep it simple by sticking to two main salt types: solar crystals and pellets. For well water users, we also offer iron-fighter pellets, as they help reduce rust buildup in your tank. These are recommended if your water has heavy iron content or if you have an iron filtration system installed at home.
Peterson Salt offers residential and commercial water softeners as well as repair and free hard water testing. We currently offer three commercial water softeners. All of our water softeners are metered, on-demand systems that regenerate based on your actual water usage - ultimately saving you money on salt and water costs.

Did a lot of product research first. Called a few places looking for Fleck and open to Clack controller based water softeners. Tom was very knowledgeable, explained the differences between the two, and answered all my questions. No pressure and no crazy up selling, just an honest conversation. Gave me pricing over the phone that included the installation. Sent out AJ to do the removal of the old and install the new. AJ was on time, cheerful, clean, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

I wanted a new unit that would last. The disposable units at the Big Box stores last 4-5 years. Tom answered all of my questions and concerns and they sell high quality units that are built to last. That is exactly what we were looking for in a new water softener. Their installer AJ came out today and installed the new unit, hauled away the old unit and showed me how to operate it. AJ was very professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about his products.
The entire process was perfect. 5 stars. 100% satisfied. I

I'm not even sure what to say. After confirming my delivery, it never showed up. About a week later I emailed asking what happened and got no response. I sent one more email a few weeks after that and this is the response I got. So I had a delivery scheduled, they said their truck broke down but didn't notify me as such (that the delivery would be delayed), and then didn't bother to deliver on a different day? And they couldn't include even a minor apology? I've never written a bad review for anyone, but this is messed up. Frankly quite bizarre. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere

I called Peterson Salt & Water to inquire about a new softener system. We had an existing system in the home that was less than a year old, but it was causing problems with salt in the water and I assumed we wouldn't be able to find a company to service an existing system due to the need for specific parts, warranty concerns, etc. I spoke with Tom and he had us on schedule within the same week. He didn't try to up-sell at all - simply stated they could likely fix the existing system, given its newer age. AJ came out to look at everything, and provided excellent education and customer service. Everyone

I have worked with Peterson Salt several times and can recommend them to anyone looking for softener services. We recently purchased a system with them and had issues with it functioning correctly (bad unit from the factory) and working with them to get it resolved was a breeze. They were very responsive and arrived when they said they would, more importantly they listened to our concerns and worked with us to resolve the issue. Would not hesitate to call them in the future for repair and service.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Although my home needed a little extra plumbing to get the job done they were fair with the pricing and did the work correctly the first time. I highly recommend Peterson Salt. Don’t over pay for a name on a tank. Peterson’s will listen and recommend the right tank for your home.

We had our old water softener replaced with a new one from Peterson Salt & Water Treatment Company couple of weeks back and were very happy with the whole experience! John in Sales was very helpful and responsive in answering all the questions that we had, and gave us a very competitive price. AJ did the installation and was extremely competent, proficient, and so pleasant to work with - he was exactly what other reviewers have said about him! We highly recommend this company!

Wonderful service and fair prices. We switched over to Peterson Salt a few years ago when our softener needed repair -- we have been incredibly happy with them, both for service/repair and also for salt delivery.

Peterson was very helpful in giving us advice on our water softener when we moved into a new house and knew nothing about them. They made sure our softener was working properly and tested our water for us, and have been our go-to place for buying salt.
