Our roots trace back to 2008 when our Founder and President Trevor Kenkel was just 12-years old. While exploring the stream near his family's house in Kalispell, Montana, Trevor was shocked to discover that the frogs and fish were gone. Determined to find out why, Trevor visited the stream regularly to see if he could figure out what was going on.
Springworks is powered by twenty hard-working people from diverse backgrounds. We're totally committed to seeing Springworks become a symbol of consistent quality, exceptional flavor and game-changing sustainability. Born with an innate curiosity about how things work and raised with a deep respect for nature and the environment, Trevor founded Springworks during his Freshman year at Bowdoin College.
With so many lettuce products to choose from at your favorite supermarket, we've chosen different varieties that are as versatile as they are flavorful. Every one of our products is certified organic, Paleo and Keto friendly, pesticide-free and shipped to local supermarkets and independent grocery stores within 48 hours of being picked.
It's simple: aquaponics is one of the safest and most sustainable ways to grow certified organic lettuce, all year-round. Extending the growing season in Maine to winter means your local supermarket no longer has to have lettuce trucked across the country from California or Arizona. That means a lower carbon footprint for your supermarket and fresher, tastier lettuce for you!
We know how lucky we are to do what we love every day. That's why we give back to the local community and state that's been so good to us. We consistently donate fresh lettuce to the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine who then sends it to individual food pantries throughout the state.
To ensure our friends and neighbors have access to fresh, healthy greens, we also do Donation Days at our greenhouse and with partners like the Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union.
