NOTICE- If you have recently bought knives or cutlery from a show in Florida from a company using Custom Cutlery as their name, it is NOT us! In the last few days we have had numerous calls asking us to deal with multiple problems that have occurred with this company and the products they are selling.

We have been doing business as Custom Cutlery, Inc. since 5/19/1993 and this company started using Custom Cutlery, LLC in 2013. Ordering information - Our knives are hand made. We work long hours 7 days a week to produce our knives for you, but please do not assume that we will have all knives in stock and ready to ship the same day you order.
Services
Custom Cutlery, Inc. was born from the dreams of two people, Jim Plowman and Mike Harford. As childhood friends they grew up together in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1980 Jim moved away to a small town named Marengo in Iowa and finished high school there while Mike finished his schooling in Cedar Rapids.
Our full set of kitchen knives has every job covered from the smallest job of paring an apple to slicing, dicing carving and even fine chopping. Having the right tool for the job ensures that it can be done quickly, easily, and most importantly. When you buy this complete set you also receive a free knife block valued at $120.00 totally free as well as saving 6% off the full list price.
The Ulu knife is the most versatile knife design there is. If you can only have one knife the Ulu knife is the one to have. Works great for slicing, dicing, chopping, and skinning. The Ulu knife works well on a cutting board but works even better when combined with a bowl designed for chopping and cutting with the Ulu knife.
Our fillet blade is designed to have flexibility and sensitivity making it easy to fillet your catch quickly and effortlessly. Slightly longer blade for those larger fish. The 8" fillet blade is designed for those larger fish where you need the extra length to handle the "big ones". The 10" fillet blade is designed for those larger fish where you need the extra length to handle the "big ones".
Our hunting knives are made from tough high carbon steel and heat treated to perform well in rough conditions. The blades are finished to a satin finish and then Parkerized to help protect the steel from rust or tarnish. This also leaves the blades with a nice matte gray finish that looks good while it protects the steel.

I received a very nice Fillet knife from here about a year ago. I took a friend to this shop today July 6 2020 and there was a "for sale"

Even though I live in San Francisco, Ca., and have never been to Iowa I'm giving these guys 5 stars. I'm a mail order customer for the amazing custom-colored, multi-ply wood I'm using to re-handle my own kitchen knives. Great personal service (thanks Jim Plowman!), best prices, prompt shipping and high quality materials not available elsewhere. I'm a happy guy. 5 stars!

3 stars in my own opinion because this a place for guys, which is cool - don't get me wrong, I'm just not as into it as my husband. But I gave it 4 because the care and craftsmanship is superb. And we prefer family-owned businesses. The name of the shop says it all. They have absolutely gorgeous custom knives here. Everything made by hand. And countless iron pieces: candle holders, paper towel rollers, wall brackets, triangle dinner bells, etc. There are so many touristy shops in the Amana Colonies; it is nice to visit one that isn't selling Boyd's Bears and flowery, gross smelling
