Services
Coastal Wood Industries established itself in the marine construction and foundation piling industry in 1991. A family owned and operated business, Coastal Wood Industries services the entire Eastern Shore and the Delmarva Peninsula. For fifteen years Coastal Wood operated out of Harrington, DE.

In 2006, the company moved south to Fruitland, Maryland to work alongside Atlantic Wood Industries, who provided the highest quality kiln drying and CCA preservative treatment of Southern Yellow Pine piling and timbers. In 2011 the Atlantic Wood Industries division in Fruitland was purchased by Eden Wood Preserving.
Southern yellow pine is the most commonly used wood in the U.S. due to its durability, versatility, and renewable nature. However, its key characteristic is its high treat-ability. Rot and insect resistant chemicals are infused permanently into the wood, and the result is strong, durable lumber.

We recommend using pressure treated dimension lumber for docks, decks, deck framing, boardwalks, catwalks, beach stairs, light-posts, or anything else that might need to weather a storm or two.Information on grade rules for dimension lumber products can be obtained from the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau.
Pressure treated wood is favored in deck building. This economical resource is not only resistant to termites and rot, but has an aesthetic, natural appearance. More than 80% of all U.S. decks are built at least partially with preserved wood. You can find high quality pressure treated material for decking in a variety of dimensions and lengths at a low cost.
Tropical woods like Greenheart and IPE work well on projects such as docks, piers, bulkheads, building foundations, and general heavy construction. Greenheart is a very strong and dense wood that is naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insect attack. We have Greenheart, IPE, and other tropical lumber, timbers and piling available in large amounts and various dimensions and lengths.
C-LOC and ShoreGuard are the #1 vinyl sheet piling products for seawall construction because of their durability and low cost. Vinyl is environmentally-friendly as well. It is made from over 90% recycled material and has UV protection. ShoreGuard and C-LOC are currently available in a variety of profiles, from lightweight to heavy commercial.

Working with the people there was a good experience but the wood was what brought my rating down. I was replacing a dock and although since it is wood you expect some imperfections. At the price per board foot the quality was below standard. If it was for a work dock it wouldn't be an issue but I was removing and replacind better boards than the new ones. I would have paid more for better boards. They are pressure treated at the location and that was done extremely well .
