Our office believes in helping each and every patient to help themselves. Dr. Erik Uuksulainen (OOK-soo-lay-nen) loves to help people function at their best. He was first introduced to chiropractic following a high school sports injury that was not improving with conventional methods of treatment. Dr. Erik completed, with honors, his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics and then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College.
Services
We optimize the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, ligaments) system and arthrokinematic system (joints and joint motion) and build a care plan that is signature to you. In high school, I received a soccer injury to my right knee. Concluding the season, I began a full time job in the summer. I wore work boots and was on my feet all day.
We specialize in Diversified Chiropractic care, which includes biomechanical and arthrokinematic evaluation of the region of chief concern as well as those above and below the site if injury. We include extremity evaluation to see of there is a secondary region that is responsible for the patient's primary site of pain.
If this is your first time booking an appointment at True North Chiropractic we wanted to educate you on what you can expect when coming to your appointment. Please read the following carefully to ensure a seamless first visit with Dr. Erik. When you first arrive, our front desk staff will provide you with the requisite new patient intake forms.
During your second visit, the Report of Findings, your chiropractor will discuss insurance benefits and explain what your exact financial responsibilities are towards your care. A typical office visit will last between 15 to 30 minutes depending on what services you personally require. We are respectful around finances and we would never perform any service without discussing it and its cost with patients beforehand and receiving your approval.
The short answer is within a few days to a few weeks. There are a number of factors that determine how good a candidate will be able to "hold" their spinal correction. It is important to acknowledge that factors such as age, prior history of injury / re-injury, occupation and compliance in addition to your individualized treatment plan and recommendations will determine your progress.
