Dr. Cockrell is available to treat foot and ankle ailments such as diabetic foot care, ingrown toenails, fungal toenails, warts and painful calluses. Our practice specializes in general foot care. Ankle sprains are very common injuries with more than 3 million suffered each year in the US. They occur when the ligaments in the ankle are severely stretched or torn.
To ensure your convenience, below is the information you need about our podiatry office, including our hours, location, appointment scheduling and insurance acceptance. If, for any reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible. Charges may be incurred for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before scheduled appointment time.
During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We accept most insurances. List of current prescriptions and/or over-the-counter medication, including dose and frequency. You are responsible for co-payments or charges that are not covered by your insurance.
Dr. Cockrell is an exceptional foot specialist. He is thorough, gentle and committed to ensure his patients are provided excellent care - surgery and follow-up. I can highly recommend Dr. Cockrell as a great podiatrist. He is very patient - explaining the procedures and taking as much time as you need to answer any and all questions. My foot surgery was a success with no pain and the end result is perfect! Make an appointment with him and you won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Cockrell took care of my ingrown toenail with a quick procedure that almost pain free. I think the shot to numb my toe was the worst part but still not unbearable. He provided great information on how to take care of my toe post-op and I couldn’t be happier that this will not bother me in the future.

My dad had foot problems all his life. Same story for me. When I was a child, my parents had to have special shoes made for me. My feet were very wide, and my toes grew thick callouses that had to be cut down periodically. As an adult, I’ve gone thru Plantar Fasciitis and now multiple ingroan toenails.
Dr. Cockrell is any foot patient’s ultimate solution. I’m sorry I didn’t know of Dr. Cockrell years ago.

After cutting my toenail too far inward, I developed an ingrown toenail that got pretty bad after a few weeks. My primary care doctor recommended seeing Dr. Cockrell and I’m glad they did. I got in the door pretty quickly, thanks to Debby, and the ingrown procedure went smoothly. Once the toe was numbed, I felt nothing. After the procedure, I felt immediate relief on my toe. Dr. Cockrell is the best podiatrist in Nashville!

I injured my foot playing tennis, was in a lot of pain, and needed to see a doctor immediately. I was a new patient, and Dr. Cockrell stayed after his last appointment to see me that same day. He ultrasounded my foot and explained what injuries I had. Dr. Cockrell taped up my foot, and I was able to walk out with very minimal pain. I have since see him for follow up visits and will continue to go to him for any foot issues I might encounter.

I've been going to Dr. Cockrell for 17 years for a variety of foot problems including calluses and plantar fasciitis. He has been a miracle worker. I've seen numerous podiatrists in East TN and Atlanta and he is hands down the best I've been to. Both my kids and my husband have been to him as well. I recommend Dr. Cockrell to anyone needing podiatric care.

I highly recommend Dr. Cockrell and his staff. I had a smooth muscle tumor on the right heel that was impeding movement and painful. Dr. Cockrell explained all options clearly, and I was comfortable with all pre-op and post-op care. Dr. Cockrell and his surgical team were fast and efficient, the out patient procedure experience was fantastic. We had to do a skin graft, and Dr. Cockrell's choice of a biologic graft was excellent. You cannot tell where the wound site was! Weekly follow up visits were always easy and informative. When I had a little post op infection at wound site, it was diagnosed

Dr. Cockrell is caring and highly skilled. He did bunion surgery on both feet and years later they're still fine, with scars that are nearly invisible. The recovery was not bad or long and the results were great. I know many people who had awful recoveries and/or whose bunions returned. If you have foot pain, check him out!
