I started in the Real Estate industry as a kid. My parents were always buying, fixing up and renting homes. In the process, I learned a wealth of information about Real Estate. My mother went on to become a Real Estate broker 20 something years ago so I grew up with her influence. I decided to enter the Real Estate industry when I moved to California in 2007, received my license and started selling homes in 2009.
After being awarded the President's Club Honor in 2012 by J. Rockcliff Realtors, I decided it was time to work on the other side of the business doing home loans. Simply put, a mortgage is a loan secured by real property and paid in installments over a set period of time. Qualifying for a mortgage requires meeting a pre-determined set of guidelines established by a lender, which may include credit history, income, employment and assets. In addition to personal qualifying factors, a property must also meet certain standards set by lenders before a borrower can obtain a mortgage loan secured by real estate.
Lenders look at a borrower's credit score, number of open accounts, payment history, type of credit borrowed and a series of other factors when determining what level of risk to assess to each lending scenario. Down payment requirements, loan programs, flexibility on income and even interest rates can be impacted by a slight bump in a credit score.
Interest rates are impacted by a borrower's credit score, loan term, mortgage program and a series of market factors that are outside of our control. Unfortunately, many advertisers will tease a low interest rate in a marketing campaign for the purpose of creating interest in a specific loan program which may only fit a unique type of qualified borrower.
It's obviously important to know how much home you can afford, what type of down payment to budget for, monthly mortgage payment as well as what type of loan program you'll be using to finance the new property. Certain mortgage loans have residence type, HOA, appraisal or insurance restrictions that your agent needs to be aware of prior to showing you listings.

This guy is AMAZING! He helped me with my second home purchase in February 2020. He is a fountain of knowledge, answers questions, returns phone calls, and answers emails without hesitation. He breaks things down to you in a way that you will understand while checking all avenues and all possibilities. He will have your back all the way until the end. I was lucky enough to find Craig online after searching for a lender who could complete a home loan after a short sale. I had less than month and half to purchase a home and found only few lenders willing to give it a shot. Add to it the complexity my application presented! Craig and his team made the impossible possible! We are so thankful for their attention and patience with us. We were really discouraged by being turned down by other banks and Banc was our final resort. Craig is the only lender who could close our loan - others promised but never could deliver. We had a short sale which made our loan tricky. We're in Texas and it was hard to believe how easy it was to get everything done on time even when we were half-way across the country. Very good communication through the whole process, and worked very hard to meet our moving target of a close date (important if you have to move on time!). Craig will be my go-to lender from now on.

I am a veteran who recently went through a loan modification in September of 2013 on a rental property. I completed the loan modification in February 2014 and was unable to refinance my primary mortgage/residence because of this loan modification on my rental property. Long story short I contacted every va broker I could find and all of them gave me the run around or told me I needed to be 2 years out from my loan modification completion date.
