Dinner here was amazing! Excellent seafood cooked perfectly. I had the Eastern trifecta and it was amazing!

Lobster rolls were perfect. Served properly On a buttered and grilled NE hotdog roll and stuffed with claw meat. No heavy mayo or fillers. Oysters Rockefeller for the appetizer couldn't have been better. Our server was awesome as well. All around great experience.

Took my folks here to celebrate their 50th anniversary tonight and it was perfect! Excellent service - attentive and friendly but not fake or overbearing. All dishes were piping hot and delicious. Crab cakes may be the best I've ever had. The salmon special topped with crab was exceptional. Key Lime Pie was the best we've ever had. We don't mind paying top price for excellence and the Paddock did not disappoint.

Very good food and service , portions are very large . Only reason 4 outta 5 stars, had the seafood imperial w crab and scallops was very good but didn't like the imperial sauce . Otherwise 5 outta 5 stars

We have eaten here several times. Hubby...who is a crab cake afficianado and swears the are best. Brought friends and business partner all left loving this place

Fine dining prices but not fine dining food or SERVICE.
Loud obnoxious music disallowing conversation at one's
table. Asked to have volume decreased but was told that was "not permitted." Also we were asked to "vacate" table after 1 hour 10 minutes while 6 people were trying to divide the bill because individual checks "could not be done."
Many restaurants in the East York area that are much better in all ways such as THE FIRST POST and EAGLES NEST. I recommend them.

Our favorite restaurant! The crabcakes are phenomenal, and the crab dip is the best I've ever had, by far! The service is always exceptional, and the food comes out quick and perfect every time. I can't say enough great things about The Paddock!

Crab cake was on the bland side and not a fan of the lobster roll either in my opinion Jackie bees Crab cake's are way more flavorful

We passed this place many times and never tried to go in. The first time we did go on we were advised we needed to have reservations. I don't know of that is all of the time or if it is just during the busy periods only. But I finally made the reservation and got a table for us to go and try this restaurant out. It was busy and packed, so the reservations, at least at that time made sense. Apparently our table wasn't ready so they offered us another table with high chairs and gave us a free round of drinks. Ehh was not impressed with the food or service. Over priced. You want crab cake? Go to the First Post... 2 min down the street. The food is so much better and the customer service is excellent.
Food- crab cake was bland. Rice tasted like microwaved rice. Steak freezer burned.
The hostess, her name started with K, can remember didn't even drop by our table to ask about water or how the food was until we were done eating.

Food and service was really good. Food came out quickly, we got the Chesapeake Burger and haddock sandwich (broiled). We went on father's day and didn't have reservations but were able to sit outside.

We are extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I made reservations for Father's Day on Wednesday the 16th for 7 people. I called the very next day to make it 9 people and the woman who answered the phone said no problem and it was changed to 9 people.
When we got there on Sunday, their reservation process was horrible! There were several parties waiting at the top of the stairs and in the little hallway by the restrooms. We stood there for 15 minutes before we were even recognized. When I gave her my name for 9, she said my reservation was for 7 and they couldn't accommodate

Fantastic! First time here... I was in the area for business and popped in for drinks (Peach Mango Martini, pictured) and some light fare. I grabbed the French Onion Soup and the Jumbo Lump Crab Stuffed Portobello Mushroom. Absolutely delicious! I'll have to stop again next time to try more of the menu.

Called today & spoke to a hostes about doing to go order for mothers day. Wanted to get an idea of how long it could take for three meals to be cooked, understanding it would be dependent on business. Her answer to me was "I don't know how long it would take, I don't know the menu, I'm only a hostess"!!!

Tried placing a take out order by phone four times, and each time the hostess answered and indicated she would transfer me to someone who would be able to take my order. Each time I was placed on hold for approximately 3 minutes and the line would disconnect. After the fourth unsuccessful attempt (where I told the hostess of the issue), I went down to the restaurant in person to place the to go order.I was able to place the order at the bar ( with a mandatory 18% gratuity tagged on) and asked to speak to a manager. Apparently the manager couldn't be bothered to come speak to me to hear my

It's not worth risking Covid for their mediocre food. Haphazard mask wearing and flagrant violations of Covid-related restrictions don't make for an appetizing environment, especially when served with holier-than-thou bible quotes. No crab cake is worth dining at the cesspool.

Where to start....so much wrong. I feel like we were literally ROBBED (Really. See the next to last paragraph)!
To begin with, we were seated and asked for water for the table. We were brought 4 bottles of water... at a charge of course.
The Margaritas tasted like Vanilla (both myself and my guest noted this). When we questioned the taste, we were told the bartender "free pours" and that was our explanation. No offer of a remake.
My son was not allowed to get a side salad with his grilled cheese, even if I paid for one. It WAS a side dish offered but we were told he had to order

We had a very good meal last night with some friends. Everyone's meal was great. And outstanding service. We always find The Paddock very good never had a bad meal. They were very busy and we went early too. I highly recommend The Paddock.

Their menu sounds appetizing, but the food we got last night was horrible. Mashed potatoes half tasting like paste with giant clumps of uncooked potatoes mixed in. Shrimp overcooked w/ no cocktail sauce. Our scallops were not seared at all. The dish was almost $40
My husband got a cheesesteak and fries. The bread was mushy and the quality of the food was totally unappealing.
We spent $57 and threw it all in the trash.
First/last visit. Very disappointing.

Dined tonight with friends, the meal was underwhelming at best. A not so good margarita, marginal at best broiled shrimp and ambiance of dining a mere 20 feet from Market St. traffic. On the plus side the Onion Rings are still excellent.

We did take out and I wasn't present when the meal was picked up, so this review is about the food only. The crab cake was fantastic and I enjoyed the fries as well. The onion rings are fantastic as well.

Love this place for a Sunday meal. Best crab cakes around. I had the Cobb salad with a crab cake. It was excellent. My mom had the stuffed shrimp and loved it. She also said the raspberry vinaigrette was the best she ever had. So much so that she got a container to take home. And our server was such a sweetheart.

COVID UPDATE: The Paddock has turned their front parking lot into socially distanced outdoor dining! It's wonderful. The tables are beautiful and widely spaced apart. The service is still at the impeccable levels as dining inside. Even the traffic noise from the road is not a big deal. It's just so nice to be able to go out again.

All of the food comes packaged in to-go boxes which is a little weird for such an upscale place, but to minimize washing and breakage, it's totally understandable. We never deviate from our Trifecta when we dine at Paddock and it's always amazing

If visiting, would not make my top 3 to visit. Just some things not very well thought out. Want water, pay $2.00 a bottle. Automatic gratuity added to Larry of 2? Food, service, atmosphere just a bit better average.

We had our valentines day dinner at the paddock and it was good. Their crabcakes are really delicious. I had the house salad and the green beans with Amandine. My dinner meat got the pulled pork burger with sweet potato fries and they were accommodating to his special requests. Our server was pleasant.i suggest making reservations .
Nice atmosphere. We're able to have a conversation and still be able to hear each other.

Food is more like 4.5 stars but the price is just a smidgen inflated so instead of rounding up I'll round down.

Crabcakes are legitimately awesome. Prime rib (it was Easter) was delivered perfectly. I asked for Pittsburgh (blackened outside, rare in middle). They nailed it. The crab dip in a pretzel bowl was INCREDIBLE..mainly because that pretzel was outstanding. And the crab filling was very generous and delicious.

Sides were whatever.

Service was solid.

Definitely going back when in town!

Old habits die hard and returning restaurants you've frequented for decades is one of those habits. We've always had great service at The Paddock...since the 1960s when we began visiting this well-established bar-eatery. Same thing this last visit.
