Services
Office/Store - Besides being a great place to watch wildlife, the Chassahowitzka River Camp Store stocks all kinds of stuff needed for camping, fishing, snacking & amusement. It also features a local crafts/art area within the store. Here you will also find postcards & other souvenirs branded with the Chassahowitzka River Campground moniker.
The Chassahowitzka River has two distinct characters. The first half of the six mile run to the Gulf of Mexico is primarily dominated by tributary creeks, each originating from very different springs environments. The western half of the river is known for tidal creeks, Oyster bars, Mangrove-populated keys and of course, vast Saltmarsh.
EVEN IF YOU RESERVE ONLINE, CHECK-IN AT THE TIME OF YOUR STAY IS NECESSARY Our camping sites are varied. For this reason, we ask you to fully comply with the parameters given for that site. For example, if you were to bring more vehicles than the site can reasonably hold, that may result in you not being allowed back.
Even if you're not camping with us - you can still rent a kayak, canoe, paddle board, or jon boat with paddles/oars. It's our pleasure to give you loads of guidance and advice on where to go and how to be safe; so please don't be afraid to ask our kayak attendants questions! While kayaks are perfect for a trip down river, Jon boats are a popular option if you just want to float a family of four and gear to the very nearby Seven Sisters Springs.

Use the trash cans not the river. Chas is a great place to visit. It has become congested in recent years but still has natural beauty that exceeds other springs in the area. Be polite, be curtious and if your kayak flips over don't throw a fit, people are always observing and sound travels far over water! Watch the rocks in the channel, great place to lose a lower unit.

This is the third time we have stayed here. The spots are tough to get into because of trees. The 30A breaker isn't holding and WiFi doesn't seem to be working. If we were kayakers this would be a great place because of the river trails. But it is only 10 minutes from my folks so it makes sense to stay here.

This particular campground is absolutley beautiful. The management provides great customer service and an awesome family oriented atmosphere that ALLOWS pets! Wait theres more, this campground has a free public boat ramp with only a small fee for parting and they even have kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and even john boats for rent 364 days out of the year. Campground is well kept. Getting out of some sites (like pull thrus) may be challenging due to the curving of the small road and trees if in larger rig - so choose carefully. We are in a 42ft fifth wheel and even after moving rig as far over as possible we still were in bushes getting out. Office/shop is down the road. Gate closes at 10pm and doesn't open till morning. Small playground across from park entrance.

This place is awesome and well worth the money. Be aware that parking at the boat ramp is a seperate fee of $5. The lady's at the office were welcoming and helpful. Bathrooms were clean too.
It's not the best spring but the area is nice and the people are friendly.
I've been several times amd always have a blast!

We love this place! It's like a home-away-from-home! We've kept our camper here for 6mths at a time, coming up on weekends, and no one has ever messed with our stuff while we're not here.
The sites are spacious, shaded with trees, dog friendly, the staff is friendly, bathrooms are large & clean, weekends are busy and weekdays are quiet. We love the boat ramp, kayaking is a great way to connect with nature. The little store at the boat ramp has everything you need, or may have forgotten. Love this placeđź’•
