Heath Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been serving Lakeland area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come. Like many funeral homes during that time, Heath provided ambulance service to the community. In 1971, they answered another community need and added a large chapel to provide full funeral services onsite.
Planning a funeral can be overwhelming, but you are not alone in this. We're here to support you throughout this journey and make this process one of love, healing, and life celebration. Below is some information to help you get started, but you can contact us at any time if you need help.
When a loved one dies at home or in a place that isn't a healthcare facility, you'll need to contact emergency personnel before they can be taken into our care.If your loved one was under medical care, it's a good idea to call their physician as well. If your loved one dies in a healthcare facility, they will notify the proper authorities, including the funeral home you have chosen to care for your loved one if they know that information.

My mother had made her arrangements ahead of time with Heath. We have attended many services at Heath throughout the 30+ years we have lived in Lakeland, so we were comfortable recommending it to her when she asked. When the time came to access services, the staff responded quickly with utmost kindness and professionalism. They exhibited equally warm care for Mom and for those of us she left behind. My mom's family has used Heath since my grandfather passed before I was born. I just used their services after the passing of my dad. I can now say I know why my family has being going to them for decades. They do great work and they care about people. They don't push you to buy the most expensive products they just show you what they have to offer and let you decide what is best for you. I worked with Art Kretzer II and he was kind and compassionate throughout the whole process. We will definitely use Heath again, hopefully in the very far away future.

Stacy and the team at Heath were wonderful at guiding us through the process of my dad's passing. From helping with the legality of documents (death certificate etc), setting up a lovely reception and service, even helping write a tribute and obit, and putting together a lovely video. They are calm and compassionate in dealing with family dynamics. They take care of so many behind the scenes details before and during the service, and to completion of the paperwork long after. At the time of loss, when emotions are running the brain in a bit of a fog, they could always be counted on. God bless them

My husband past away on July 30, 2019. We contacted Heath Funeral Chapel and spoke to Rusty. He made a very devastating time in my life and that of my family as caring and as perfect as we could have hoped. We asked for a few special things and he took care of them quickly and made a very hard time easier. I was not aware of Heath Funeral Chapel because we had only moved to Lakeland a few months ago. When Hospice told us to make arrangements quickly we took a chance and called them. Please feel confident that your loved one will be taken care of with respect even to the smallest details. Thanks

At an extremely difficult time, Heath Funeral did a marvelous job in helping us navigate the gathering that commemorated our loved one. Rusty and Matt took extra steps when they realized we needed them and went way above and beyond what we originally asked. Words cannot express the gratitude that they were there and just did what needed to be done with a cheerful attitude. Our family is large, and as longtime members of the Lakeland Community, Mom was well known and loved. It was her decision to use Heath Funeral many years ago, and I can honestly say that they have my recommendation.
