As a child, John Caracci (founder of Johnny C's Deli & Pasta) grew-up in his grandmother's kitchen sampling authentic Italian cuisine. Johnny's grandmother took great pride in the food she prepared for her family and it was here Johnny developed a passion for cooking. In 1992, he decided to open a restaurant that mirrored the experiences he had in his grandmother's kitchen.
Johnny wanted the patrons of his business to feel the same sense of family, contentment, and love he felt with his grandmother those years ago. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, is employee wages. I really hope they are able to up the pay for their sandwich makers and dishwashers to a living wage, (currently $9-$10 p/h according to Glassdoor and other employee reviews). I unfortunately can’t in good conscience shop at a restaurant that doesn’t pay a living wage, but would love to return if I knew their wages had gone up. Maybe just an old glassdoor review?

Hands down the best deli sandwiches in Kansas City. We’ve ordered the Italian Trio Sub a few times for carry out. The meats and cheeses are delicious, high quality and plentiful. The bread roll is also super fresh. Whether you call in an order or order online, you receive great friendly service. Highly recommended!

This place was great! A real hidden gym - really hidden, I didn't even see it until we pulled up in front of the place! It opens up inside and is very welcoming, the entire family works the registers, the food is amazing at a good price. The walls are covered in family photos which reminds me of home.
