Local 808 is made up of over 900 Iron Workers who live, work, spend money and raise their families with in the central Florida area. The men and women of our organization have spent three to four years training as apprentices in the Iron Working trade building the necessary skills to become Journeyman in the trade.
The training provides our Iron Workers with a high level of safety, knowledge of the latest industry practices and certifications that are required by the contractors who utilize our skilled craftsman to build the unique structures that are raised in the central Florida area from the space industry to the theme parks.

If you do not have the current Crane & Rigging certification through the International that was implemented in 2010 or if you do not have the certification at all then this is the time to get it. You will need to purchases the required Reference book and Work book from the apprenticeship office $77.00 for both sets Crane & Rigging and you must have all the assignment in both work books completed prior to testing on the 19th.
Please contact the apprenticeship office to be registered for all classes you wish to attend. There are online options available if you wish to enroll in them please contact Richard Watford at (407) 859-0321. The Cranes and Rigging is offered Monday-Friday. In order to take the test you must have purchased and completed the Cranes and Rigging books prior to coming in.

If u live anywhere in Florida or another state and u r looking for work and have structure, welding skills ,metal work, or carpentry skills stop by an look into there apprentice program. If u have Ironworker experience ask about journeyman program great pay even better benefits and great local support for any problems on the job and off.
