Kamran Parandian is the founder and principal of the Parandian Law Firm. Mr. Parandian is a dynamic, results-driven attorney with substantial immigration, corporate and commercial litigation experience. He has represented and/or advised many individual and corporate clients on a wide range of matters helping them achieve success.
A person can attain U.S. Citizenship by birth or by naturalization. Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is conferred upon a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Most permanent residents (green card holders) enjoy the right to remain in the United States without restrictions and can work for any employer.
This section will provide an overview of the employment-based immigration process, the requirements to qualify for employment sponsorship, and the application and adjudication process. If a person wants to become an immigrant based on the fact that they have a permanent employment opportunity in the United States, they must go through a multi-step process.
The first employment-based preference category was intended to enable the most talented and/or best-recognized individuals to qualify for permanent residence. This category applies to those with "extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics which has been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim and whose achievements have been recognized in the field through extensive documentation."
Family reunification has long been an important concept in immigration law. Immigration based on a family relationship can be difficult and complex. If a foreign national wants to become a lawful permanent resident based on the fact that they have a relative who is a citizen of the United States or a relative who is a lawful permanent resident, they must go through a multi-step process.
