Carshon's
Carshon's Deli is one of the oldest restaurants in Fort Worth, Texas, and certainly is the oldest deli in Fort Worth. It was established in 1928 by David Carshon, a Jewish immigrant. Carshon's is a kosher-style deli today-and the only one in Fort Worth. Carshon's began in downtown Fort Worth in partnership with Chicotsky's Meat Market at 1010 Houston Street.

Eventually, Carshon's moved to W. Berry Street near TCU and remained there during the '50s and '60s. It has been at this present location since the early '70s. Carshon's also has been family-owned and operated since it began in 1928. The store features New York style sandwiches and side orders, other deli products and terrific desserts.

This is my go to place for food I can't find anywhere else! Lox and cream cheese on bagel, matzoh ball soup, Rueben sandwiches the size of a football...consistently great deli food. No credit csrds are accepted so be forewarned. But the PIES...get there early before they sell out! Nice but small selection of wine and beers.

Very old school New York Deli
Didn't realize it was cash only.
That seems wrong in this day and age.
Food was plentiful and tasty.
Limited menu.
Very nice server.

Wow! The pastrami was so good it should be illegal. Why did I wait so long to come here? Service is excellent and quick. Im looking forward to coming back for more.

CASH ONLY! How there are still restaurants that survive without accepting credit cards, I don't know. But here we are. I made a quick run to an ATM around the corner.

I lucked out at 11:30 am with no wait and immediate seating. I'd already looked over the menu so I was able to order when my waitress came by.

About 15 minutes later, my "breadless Reuben" arrived. A great portion of very thinly sliced pastrami, topped with sauerkraut and swiss cheese that was nicely melted and quite delicious. The pickle on the side was crisp and tasty as was the small bowl of cole slaw. Thankfully

At first glance, if you're just driving by, you might not realize the gold mine that lies behind the older style deli windows.

This place is an AUTHENTIC Jewish deli. I've been to delis in both Hollywood FL (a heavy Jewish population) and NY and neither places had a place like this.

It's cash or check only lol so bring enough to get what you want.

There is a smaller dine in area if you are looking to eat there during their limited hours.

Ever single thing we ordered was incredible.

The matzah ball soup was absolutely perfect on a chill day and with a bit of a sore throat. Not

Carshon's is one of Fort Worth's established restaurants that is still in business because it is amazing. The sandwiches are super fresh, the pies are delicious, and the sides are wonderful. I am a fifth generation Tarrant County Texan and many of the restaurants I love were also loved by my parents and grandparents.

A trip to Fort Worth is not complete for us without a stop at Carshon's Deli. A traditional Jewish deli, Carshon's has house made bagles and chips, pastrami, corned beef, and a range of deli salads. A variety of pies and desserts round out the menu.

Great sandwiches. I like the Ruben & Rachel. The only bad thing is they don't take credit cards so I don't go as often because I have to go to ATM to get cash.

This is NOT kosher! Quit advertising it as a kosher deli to people out of town; there have been a lot of travelling observant Jews who stop here because they don't know. In the Metroplex you have to go to Dallas to eat kosher food out, otherwise the closest you are gonna get is vegan restaurants.

My wife has eaten here for decades and never invited me here until today. She raves about the pastrami sandwich on egg bread and the split pea soup. I thought to myself just another Ja_ _ _ _ Deli. The pastrami is out of this world, I have never had pastrami this good, not even when we visited New York. I also had the potato soup, it was delicious. I also sampled the corn beef and it is just as mouthwatering.
If you haven’t eaten here before what are you waiting on, get your tail in here now.
I will definitely be back for more deliciousness and don’t forget to order some desert they are all

One of the few Fort Worth long time establishments left from old Fort Worth. Carshon's is a staple to the city, and it's a place I frequent regularly. Mary and her staff are very kind to customers. You can't find a better Jewish deli like this anywhere in Texas.

Recommend: Rebecca sandwich w/matzaball soup; pies are to die for (if there's any left!!)

Ordered online and picked up a Rueben which I had read countless great reviews for. Drove straight home just to unwrap a rather cold, soggy, greasy mess. I had set the pick up time and arrived a few minutes early. Obviously it had been prepared too early. Next time, I'll call in from the parking lot.

Lunch with The Wife today at Carshon’s Deli in Fort Worth. I had the Rachel, a corned beef and turkey grilled sandwich on rye with Swiss 🧀 cheese. It was delicious. Carshon’s is the closest thing to a real Jewish delicatessen in Tarrant County and they make some of the best sandwiches in Cow Town. Don’t forget your cash, tho. They don’t take any plastic of any kind.

Don't be fooled by the out-of-date appearance of this place...you may feel like you're stepping back in time, but it's all for the good. Just remember, no one can stay in business for 90+ years on gross food.

I got the Rueben on rye which was delicious! All entrees come with their homemade pickles which are tart and crisp and, in my mind, a perfect representation of a New York style pickle. The meat is all made in-home and has excellent flavor. The potato salad wasn't the best...I don't like mine sweet, but that's insignificant.

Overall the feel of the pace is

When your Jewish friend says it's good you try it. I had the Reuben & potato salad. The corn beef was a little dry but with dressing it was good. My friend had the matzo ball soup as a starter & says it bay be better than hers. One down fall is they only take cash or local checks. Will come back for sure.

It is hard to get excited about a sandwich, but in this case it is well deserved! Saw a posting about a deli in Fort Worth that had been around over 90 years. Figured couldn't be too bad. I ordered the Reuben and my wife ordered the Reuben hotdog.
OMG! Sandwich was outstanding and the hot dog was best I've ever had. Hope to go back soon to try other things. Great value, good service. Nothing out of place.

We love tbe Rebecca sandwich with its slab of cream cheese, toasty egg bread, zesty Russian Dressing, etc. Their Matzo Ball Soup is DELICIOUS with a rich chicken broth, bits of tasty chicken meat and Fideo noodles. We tried their Bagel chips and will be having them again. Try the homemade pies, too!

On the global scale of delis, Carshon's is good. On the Fort Worth scale, it is epic!

I have not been to Carshon's in years. Not since the early 90s (long before Yelp) when I lived on 6th Ave.

Well the other day I was craving a corned beef on rye, and somehow Carshon's popped in my head. We had an errand to run in south Fort Worth, and we planned our trip to coincide with Carshon's hours.

I'll confess to initially just wanting a corned beef on rye, but after eyeing the menu, went for the Reuben. It was good, probably the best I found in Fort Worth, but I wish the

I like a good Reuben sandwich. So much so, that I've considered changing my name to Reuben. So when I stopped by Carshons for a delicious sandwich, I of course ordered the....Rachel. While I've never considered changing my name to Rachel, I'm tempted to after eating here.

The Rachel is a great spin on a classic and includes a combination of turkey and corned beef. Of course, all the other important stuff is there too: toasted rye, sweet Russian dressing, melty Swiss. Instead of kraut, there's fresh Cole slaw, which adds a fresher crisp element.
