Services
Maura is a 2004 graduate of Spa Tech Institute's Therapeutic Massage Program. She has been with Heaven & Earth since 2005. She has further certifications in CORE Myofacial Therapy from the CORE Institute and Renew Movement Connective Tissue Release. She is also a certified personal trainer through NASM, a RRCA certified Run Coach, and is currently earning her Health Coaching certification.
Benefits of Massage. Massage improves circulation, which can help reduce swelling from injury and enhance the functioning of the lymphatic system, which controls the immune response. It can also flush wastes, such as lactic acid, from tired muscles to relieve aches and pains. In addition, massage breaks up adhesions from scar tissue, which restores flexibility and range of motion.
Natural Dead Sea salts are combined with essential oils to nourish and hydrate while achieving a total exfoliation. Soul-scientific ancient Chinese blend of foot massage strokes, intended to stimulate circulation (got cold feet?), gear up the genki gateways, untangle sports tortured tendons, and detox you down to the tips of your toes.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Facials are all skin type specific and include cleansing, steam/warm towels (depending on skin conditions), exfoliation, extractions (manual pore cleansing) and individualized treatment masque to suit and soothe. I came here for the sauna. The staff is very friendly and professional. When I first walked in, the music was calm and serene. I was offered a glass of water and it was in a real glass, not a plastic or paper cup to go in a landfill. The sauna is a very good quality Sunlighten brand. I hope to come back soon to experience the rest of their services.
