Central Coast Audiology
Our world is one rich with sights, smells, and sounds which are uniquely precious to us. There is no replacement for hearing the voice of your loved ones, or a beautiful piece of music, or your child's first word. At Central Coast Audiology, Inc., it is always our goal to give our patients the ability to experience these life moments as fully as possible.

Our Monterey audiologist is able to use her breadth of experience to assist you in both finding the underlying causes of your hearing loss and determining the most effective way to treat it. Every day that your hearing nerve goes unused puts another day between you and being able to successfully use a hearing device.
Services
Central Coast Audiology, Inc. is a full-service diagnostic audiology clinic. The doors of our first office opened in 2003 in Monterey, where overwhelming demand eventually led us to open a second clinic in Salinas. Our clinic is led by Laurel Hinton, a Monterey audiologist with 27 years of experience in aiding the hard of hearing.
When your hearing is damaged, it can lead to significant suffering from the inability to hear. If you are considering treatment or hearing aids, Central Coast Audiology, Inc. can help. We have 25 years of experience in the field of audiology and are dedicated to helping each of our patients improve their hearing.
Our lead Salinas audiologist, Laurel Hinton, became fascinated with the ear after taking a hearing science course in college. From an early age she had a desire to help the hard of hearing better interact with today's auditory world. There are many careers available to a degree-holding audiologist.
One out of four people over the age of 60 has a hearing problem, but most people do not seek treatment until 7 years after their hearing starts to go. To schedule your appointment with our audiologist in our Monterey or Salinas offices, call (831) 216-1281. Don't wait to have your hearing issue diagnosed.
If you have difficulty hearing or if hearing problems run in your family, you are likely aware of just how important having your hearing checked is. However, many individuals like yourself do not know that it is equally important that you have your hearing checked regularly even if you do not have pre-existing conditions.

Dear Central Coast Audiology,

I'm not a patient, but just wanted to draw your attention to a mistake in a commercial you're currently running (as of April 2021). The commercial refers to hearing as being the most important of the "six" senses. There are only five senses (taste, smell, vision, hearing, and touch). A sixth sense refers to E.S.P (the ability to read minds). You may have included the sixth sense on purpose, but just wanted to point this out in case it can be corrected in the future.

Amazing staff. Dr Hinton is very knowledgeable, as are her hand-picked staff. The choices for hearing aids are varied, fits any budget. Follow-up is scheduled at regular intervals from there very beginning.

Our experience at Central Coast Audiology was amazing. This is the kind of place that you aren't just another patient, you are part of the family. Laurel and her staff take you under their wings and in our case created a miracle for a family member who has struggled with hearing loss and hearing aids for decades.

All his prior experiences were from a "big box" store where you are just another number and a notch on the month's sales quota. Most recently one of these "big box" audiologist basically told him that hearing aides are a waste of money for his situation

It is precious to find true care as a partner in my life quality. This office from front to back has people that demonstrate care and consideration. It is wonderful to be treated like a person not a number.

The quality of services provided has never disappointed. I needed the volume turned up and one of my ear tubes was too short. Though it was a few minutes before the office was supposed to close for lunch, they took care of me in a most efficient manner. I will hear every word at my 45th High School reunion as a result of their professionalism.

Awesome products and customer service all around. I have been a patient here since 2009 and would keep going I hadn't moved very far away. But I might even make the trip because she will continue to service products she has sold you throughout the life of the product. It is exactly what you want from a professional you are going to pay thousands of dollars to be able to hear. She doesn't try to sell you what you don't want, and when you change insurance and no longer get audiology coverage, she is willing to help you find something for your budget.

As a teacher, my hearing is

This place is great. I went to her because my hearing was significantly decreasing rapidly. I needed to figure out what was going on. I originally choose this doctor because my health insurance coverage was accepted here. The receptionist was super nice and mailed me my paperwork before my appointment. Having it all filled out prior was very helpful. There really was no wait. There was alots of different tests. You actually get to see what your ear drums look like on a screen. That was pretty cool, considering I love science and stuff. The sound booth was great experience when it came to the actual

I have been a patient for almost three years, starting out with the more conventional Phonak devices and then changing to the Lyric devices. Laurel is a pleasure to work with, she cares for her patients and is determined to improve their hearing and taking time to understand their hearing concerns and challenges. Central Coast Audiology is highly recommended.

Lauren fitted my mom for hearing aids. She and her staff have been unfailingly kind and courteous as she struggles to adapt to the device. A little hard to get in for appointments. But they try to accomodate. All in all, I recommend this business as a caring place that provides personal service.
