I had my 2013 Smart Car here to replace a pulley and 2 belts. The car would not turn over but it would crank. After they replaced the pulley and belts it still would not start but would still crank. I paid for a second diagnosis for them to find out why the motor would not the turn over. They said it threw a code stating a major compression issue. They then called me and said I had to take it to the Mercedes dealer for further work. We had it towed to the Mercedes dealer and within 4 hours we were notified that the engine had lost compression due to either a cracked head or piston. Personally I

Don & Debbie are two of the most genuine people you will ever meet. They repair all of our work vans and I personally take all my vehicles to them. They really do their best to make sure the customer is happy. The most important thing is honesty. They will tell you if its broken and tell you if its NOT broken. I highly recommend A-Z auto repair! They only fix what needs fixing and are very honest about what's going on with your vehicle. I bought my car in after getting a quote from the dealer for $1800 to fix a front end issue. A-Z diagnosed a different issue that was causing the noise to a tune of $350. The car is now in perfect form ... well done A-Z!

It is very hard to find a shop where the customer and their car is treat with respect and competence. I'm having a starter issue with my 1995 Nissan 300ZX. Don is a 300ZX guru - or so I've been told. He proved it today. He and the mechanic assigned to the car diagnosed the problem within fifteen minutes. I've had two other Z32 experts try to do the same thing with negative results.
He found a solution. He told me what to do to prepare for the repair as it's specialized. I am confident my one-hour drive has proven fruitful and I have found my go-to shop (at last!) for my family's other vehicles

Hands down best experience I have had with any kind of mechanic. From the time we had our truck towed to the shop to picking it up we experienced such great service. They are fair and kind and don't try to sell you in any type of service you don't genuinely need. All of the work we had done is also under warrant for a year. My girlfriend went here recently for an oil change. Believe all of these positive reviews!!!! It takes a lot for me to trust an auto repair shop due to past experiences, including a lot of fresh open wounds. They really took care of her, very fair price and pointed out a genuine concern (shes got an old wonky car) - quoted a low price and put no pressure for her to do it soon or even there. Absolutely the opposite of what I'm used to.
I hope that the two of us can provide them lots of business in the near future.

First time had my car serviced based on the yelp reviews. Very pleased with Don Metcalf (owner) and his staff. I came in as a service engine light was on my car although my car still drove well. I was afraid of what I might expect. But the issue was minimal a valve was replaced and I did not have to mortgage the house to pay the bill. What really impressed me was my husband was with me and his leased car was side swiped so I asked Don who was good with body work. After living in Sarasota for 17 years I finally find a decent auto mechanic just as I'm leaving!
These guys go the extra mile. Not pushy but they do look for problems and let you know about them. I came in for some brake work and they found a strut rod on the front left wheel that was almost worn thru! If it had gone on the highway I'd have been toast. It couldn't be replaced with a new one so they sent it out and they welded in new metal. Looked like new when they got it back the same day. Didn't charge me for having it done as they exchange work with the welding shop for free

Once again these guys saved my behind!!! Grandmas lil old subaru crapped out on the way home from Tampa.... Radiator blew up.... greaaaaaaat. If only I could get her back up here i could do it for free but well....... im in chicago... These are our guys! They took her in asap, helped her schedule everything and in the end it was 250.00 They took a credit card over the phone and in less than a day and a half shes back on the road. Thanks guys!! With me so far away from grandma I know i can trust them to keep her on the road!!!!

I recently had some major repairs done on my 2005 Ford Escape at a different repair shop. After a week or so, it started making new sounds and just didn't drive right. I actually purchased a 1 Year Maintenance Package from A-Z Auto Repair when one of their guys stopped into my workplace in the Lakewood Ranch area. For a total of around $45 I thought it was a great value since it included 4 oil changes and a whole bunch of other routine maintenance items. While on vacation our car (Nissan Murano) started making a strong squeaky sound. We were afraid that it was a tentioner pulley...but it was only a serpentine belt. We called our mechanic at home to get an idea of what might be wrong and what the cost would be. The belt alone is $50. They fixed it by the next morning for $97!!! Very honest, reasonable and fast! Highly recommend them!

I and my faithful 15 year old Subaru Forester have been in Sarasota about a year and a half. In that time--and because the car is such a trooper--I had no real reason to have it serviced other than a couple oil changes. The shops that did these for me were ok but, other than provide me with long lists of urgently recommended and very expensive work that I ultimatly learned wasn't critical, or needed, considering the age of the car, I'd walk out feeling it would be ok with the folks there if I never pulled into their parking lots again. We were looking for a trust worthy place to take our car in Sarasota (we are new to the area). We went here based on Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. Don was able to pin point where the leak in the car was (our car was getting flooded every time it rained). The best thing was that he referred us to a superb window repair person who fixed the problem in no time. We are grateful and so thrilled to have found a trust worthy place we can take our car in the future. We'll be going to see Don soon for an oil change. We highly recommend A-Z Auto Repair!

Don, Debbie and the crew at A-Z are amazing. They try their hardest to do the best job at the lowest price they can. I have been going to Don for years now and have never had a bad experience, only positive. Took good care of my old 95 Camry.
