Services
Silhouette offers a wide range of sewing services from basic alterations and mending, like hemming jeans and darning holes, to more extensive creative jobs, like vintage restyling. What sets us apart from other alteration businesses, is every member of the Silhouette team has a degree in apparel design and a strong understanding of garment construction and fit.
Silhouette is currently by appointment only for all fittings and to try on completed alterations in-store. Meaning, if you need to try on your garment(s) for us to pin, you must make an appointment below or by calling ahead. We are not accepting walk-in appointments at this time. Please call (5034939391) to schedule a 15 minute pickup appointment if you'd like to try on your altered garments.

This place is incredible! They took excellent care of my wedding dress and tailored it to fit me perfectly. There were a number of unexpected adjustments that were made and they were able to get them done with ease, and I had such a good time with them at each fitting.

Highly recommend Silhouette studio! I’ve had a wonderful experience with them over the last few months getting my wedding dress alterations – Julia and the team are so sweet, I left every appointment a little less nervous and a little more excited about the big day! Just finished crying some tears of joy after picking my dress up from Silhouette. Another tailor in town frankly just about ruined my dress and I was prepared to buy a new gown two months before my wedding. I sent a request to Julia to see if anything could be done and she was responsive, helpful, and realistic with me. She worked some magic and got my dress looking so good! I’m so thankful for her help and can’t wait to wear the dress as planned. My only regret is not coming here in the first place!

Working with Silhouette for alterations for my wedding dress was an absolute dream. Lindsey was an incredible guide throughout the alterations process. From day 1 and up until the day I picked up my dress before my wedding, I was pleased with the communication and professionalism offered by Lindsey and the team. I boarded my plane to Chicago feeling confident about my dress and that it would fit perfectly on my wedding day, and boy did it ever! I will be returning to Silhouette for all of my future alternations needed.

This place is legit the best alterations place in Portland. I went there for my wedding dress and got straps added (pictured). They did SUCH a good job. I go there regularly now to get jeans altered, dresses, etc. I drive 4 miles out of my way to see them because it's worth it. I love them!

I greatly appreciate the lovely ladies @ Silhouette.. Several years ago they helped restyle a dress that belonged to my mom so that I could wear it for my wedding. The dress was all that I could have asked for and more. Since then, they are the only ones I can trust to give new life to my existing wardrobe..

I always have a nice experience going to Silhouette for alterations. Love the boutique feel of the place. I've had several pieces worked on, including a gorgeous bridesmaids dress that they did a great job hemming for me last fall. I was also very pleased with the outcome of a dress that I asked them to cut the sleeves off of to change to sleeveless. I plan to continue using their services as long as I live in Portland.

Julia did a FANTASTIC job altering my wedding dress! I am 5'4'' so wedding dresses tend to be very long on me. But after our first consultation and subsequent alteration appointments, my dress fit perfectly. Like it was made for me! After I tried on my dress I felt ready to walk down that aisle! The shop has a wonderful, local-shop environment and they are really, really knowledgable about wedding attire. I absolutely recommend this place and Julia.
