I've been wanting to try Kurimu for a while now, and when I saw they had a White Rabbit flavor for a limited time, I had to stop by! We tried the White Rabbit x Mandarin Orange swirl, and it was like a fragrant, light creamsicle of perfection. The white rabbit tasted exactly like the candy but slightly less sweet, and blended beautifully with the mandarin orange. The texture of the soft serve was smooth and light, but still had a good richness and solid consistency.

The location and artwork was also so cute, making for a very fun ambiance. They change their flavors somewhat frequently, so

Looked up "dessert" in yelp in the chicago area and this place popped up! They're a LOCAL ICE CREAM SHOP, small-sized with no dine-in available just yet. Their flavors are quite unique, with the asian touch, such as thai tea, lychee, matcha, purple yam, and pandan! If you wanna go bougie, go try their gold/solver leaf scoops! I absolutely loved it and would def come back again to try their other flavors. They also have boba and drinks available as well!

Flavors we tried:
- Thai Tea with Regular Cone
- Matcha Matcha and Purple Yam in Cup
- Lychee Pearl and Matcha Matcha in Charcoal

Love their ice cream!! So many different favors to pick from, we go there almost every week. Tried their boba tea too, tasted much better than many other boba shops in town. Highly recommended.

So I've been trying to get my tween to try new things and check out new places. Especially places that make boba tea, bubble or milk tea and food spots. But Kurimu has all the tea AND ice cream so I knew this spot would be a win for me and my tween.

We tried several drinks and several flavors of ice cream. We also got the messy boba. The messy boba is a must try! It's delIcious! The matcha matcha ice cream was the best! Black Sesame ice cream was ok! The care bear stare flavor was just ok. We tried the Sno milk tea and boba tea. We were able to add toppings to the tea, we added brown

Some of their special flavors are a hit or miss, but it's definitely exciting to come in and visit each time something new comes out. My personal favorites are their Thai tea, harajuku strawberry, and matcha. Would recommend getting the special cones too, very crisp and you can definitely taste the flavor.
Price makes sense. While it is expensive, it isn't a chain creamery. You get your money's worth with unique flavors, cute pictures, and of course, the ice cream shovel haha
Never had an extremely long wait, always reasonable. Staff is generally kind too.
This place is definitely a novelty

I had a scoop of ube + oreo. It was probably the best ube ice cream I have ever had. This was my 2nd dessert of the night and still I probably finished the cup in under 5 minutes. My only gripes: a little pricey (but honestly the ice cream was so delicious that it was worth it) and employees were not the most welcoming. It was my first time there and I did not receive much guidance as I was deciding what to order. Asked if they did samples (no) and if they had any recommendations (also no). Thankfully order turned out delicious in the end.

I love ice cream in general but Kurimu truly has unique flavors and would change out the flavors. I tried the earl grey and taro soft serve. Both were super good and came with a cute shovel spoon! Thai tea and black sesame are also delicious.

I don't understand why this place is so expensive. 1 scoop is $5... like what? It's not even a generous portion.

The black sesame flavor was a hit for me.
The purple yam wasn't bad. And I thought they paired well together. 2 scoops for 7.50

Not sure if it's worth the price... but if I'm craving black sesame I might have to come back.

The photo isn’t slanted, the ice cream was dispensed on the side. I personally have a bias towards soft serve ice cream, so I enjoyed it. The swirl was half Thai iced tea and half Hokkaido milk. Thai ice tea had some tea flavor, but gave a lingering dry mouth feeling. Hokkaido milk tasted like an elevated vanilla ice cream. This place has unique flavors. It was very pricey for the amount of ice cream you get. You’re paying for the looks and unique flavors.

I’m embarrassed to say how often I visit Kurimu but it is truly my FAVORITE place to get ice cream, not just in Chicago but everywhere. It’s the perfect soft serve. And the flavors rotate monthly-ish and are always always amazing combinations.

I absolutely love this place! It is so fun to find non-traditional ice cream and soft serve. All of their flavors are very creative and uniquely Asian. Last time I went, I got a swirl of their two soft serve flavors (which rotate throughout the season). The flavors I got were Spanish guava and Hokkaido milk. The combination of the two was absolutely mind blowing. I have never tried anything like it. The soft serve was so creamy and light, not too sweet. And they give you a lot for the price, enough for two servings! While I absolutely love the soft serve, I really want to try out their ice cream

Great, soft serve ice cream! It is located on Taylor street right by the UIC campus. They have many different swirl flavors. It is for $8 but worth it!

I got the Taro milk tea with cheese foam, and for a drink that's a little upward of $8, I wasn't impressed at all. the taro puree along the walls was really good when mixed in, giving the milk a unique flavor. they skimped on the cheese foam, which I really couldn't taste and overall wasn't worth the extra that I paid for.
the most underwhelming part was the boba - I ended up spitting out most of the boba because it was too firm and flavorless.

the workers were really nice and patient while we decided, and the space is very cute.

I had a Hokkaido soft serve ice cream and it was tasty! My son had swirl with Brazilian passion fruit and boba. It was interesting mix with Hokkaido milk ice cream, passion fruit and boba. Personally I enjoyed my Hokkaido ice cream just by itself. Oh! Their spoon was so cute, shape of shovel!

Yum!!! If you like sweet ice cream and boba, this is the place for you. The prices are pretty steep for ice cream, but it was interesting to try for one time. I ordered the kurimu swirl messy boba. It was so delicious. The two ice cream flavors were delicious. I really liked the guava flavor. And the boba was so good. But, it cost $8 which is probably the most I've ever paid for ice cream. Good to try one time but I don't think I'll be back a second time. It was a lot of ice cream and I was full afterwards, so maybe if they made half size orders that would be better.

The shop was empty when we arrived (though quickly filled by the time we left), so I was disappointed that the staff were not more helpful. The menu is not self-explanatory and the workers did not do well in explaining how things worked.
I ended up getting the soft-serve swirl with milk and guava flavors in a cone (note: flavored cones are $1.50 extra).
I found that those flavors tasted very artificial and not like milk and guava, as the names suggested.
My cone was $6, which is pretty steep.
This place is definitely funky and I appreciate the unique flavors, but not worth it for me.

KURIMU is a dessert shop that specializes in soft serve, ice cream, and tea, drawing inspiration from Asian cultures. You may have seen pictures on Instagram of their famous gold leaf-adorned ice cream cones.

When I arrived, there was a line out the door (a good sign!). It's a small shop with a modern design. Tsunami print curtains emphasize the Asian inspiration.

The soft serve flavors are rotated on a regular basis. The featured flavors when I was there were peach and ramune (a Japanese soda). I got them as a swirl. Both of the flavors tasted wonderful, and together they complimented one

Only recently went here on a whim, and I'm so very glad we did! Its such a cool shop, and their ice cream is really great. Flavors are a bit unconventional, which I loved. I got scoops of purple yam and oreo, and chocolate supreme, in the black cone. I thought the purple yam would be the star but it was actually the chocolate for me. So rich!
Indoor restroom is currently not accessible, must have a mask for entry, no indoor seating yet, street parking only.

The Dalgona Coffee got this place 4 stars. I got the peach soft serve. It was good, but not sell your house and move closer to eat it every day.
The Dalgona coffee was awesome with a deep rich coffee flavor. They only have two flavor of soft serve at a time. One was a "sprite" flavor and the other was peach. Peach was not overly sweet (not a bad thing), smooth, and was creamy. Wishing they had more exotic flavors to choose from.
They do have a favorite of hard serve ice cream, but not sampling due to COVID precautions.
Staff is friendly, no indoor dining at this time, and masks are

Great ice cream flavors to choose from!
Definitely want to try the black sesame and thai iced tea flavors next time. The Snow Mango Tea had actual tea flavors included, so the drink wasn't too sweet. I would recommend asking for an extra cup and spoon if you decide to get a cone.

Been dying to try this place, I mean have you seen their fabulous Instagram page? They have that advertising that makes you drool through the screen. We arrived on a Friday evening and there was a line out the door but it went by quickly! I ordered the soft serve swirl and it was tasty! They switch the flavors all the time of the soft serves.

What was the star of the show though was my friends order which was a scoop of lavender rose and the coconut passion. Those were delicious and I'd rather go back to get those and try their other flavors and items such as the Messy Boba which looked

Great soft serve! I tried the Kurimu soft serve which was quite nice, had a hint of melon and something else I can't quite place. (A tad bit expensive but the flavours of the ice cream seem quite exciting!) Bought a pint of the lychee pearl to go as well! The servers were also super nice!!

I've been wanting to go here forever but the flavors were just not it.

It's a nice, little shop and I'm hoping they'll open the indoor seating soon. Service was good. Not much to complain about but it was busy and we had to wait a bit.

The average rating was for the flavors. I got the soft serve swirl in Harajuku Strawberry and Melona Melon - the specials for April. My bf got the Harajuku Strawberry only. We both agreed it tasted nothing like strawberry which was disappointing. The melon didn't taste like it either. Separate and together it tasted like

Delicious unique ice cream, worth trying.
I absolutely love the spoon (shovel) they give you but it only comes when you order their special ice cream but I'm sure they can give it to you if you ask if you orders regular single scoop ice cream.

The gold leaf was pricy, let me tell you that lol
Give this place a try. You may like it, you may not. If you like earl grey tea, you'll like their swirl with white rabbit. I really enjoyed their ube flavored ice cream, it taste just like Trader's Joes ube ice cream but a smoother texture.
