Discovering Falls Road Aikido has been one of the best enhancements in my life I could have asked for. My wife and I have the opportunity to practice the art together under the guidance of Sempai Cara-Michele and the other wonderful instructors. After just two months, I can already feel the significant changes it's brought to my life: I'm better understanding my body and its capabilities, and learning more about the philosophies of Aikido has allowed me to limit everyday stress.
Outside of practicing the art, I very quickly feel like I've become part of the Falls Road Aikido family. We've developed

I have been involved martial arts for a few years now. Aikido is the second art I'm practicing. I am so glad I'm learning it from Sempai Cara Michelle. What I have learned on the mat, at Falls Road Aikido, I have been able to effectively translate into everyday life and it has help me so, much. If you want learn how to move through life with peace of mind, skill and confidence please come join us. Its a great atmosphere to be a part of. Hope to see YOU soon.

I have 2 teens currently taking classes. It's a great deal of fun. Ages, ability, and experience range widely making everyone comfortable. And all are smiling. Training is professional and a good workout.

We had a great class tonight! Sempai Cara-Michele instructed us on defenses against a knife. After using tontos, or wooden training knives, she pulled out the real thing! It was a buck knife, not at all sharp or pointy, but a knife nonetheless! Using the "real" knife brought home one of the primary lessons of aikido, namely, get out of the way of the attack. In the case of a knife attack we practiced getting behind the attacker (no, not running away) so we were outside the attacker's range of movement with the knife. I hope I never have to use this defense but it will be very useful if I do.

My husband and I drove by the Falls Road Aikido almost every day and we always talked about getting in there. And when we finally did we found a new home!
We have been so welcomed by Sempai Cara Michelle and the other members since day 1. The techniques we have learned in such a short time have helped us, not just physically, but mentally and 'spiritually'.
The group has been very supportive as we have just barely begun to grasp the concepts of the aikido arts. And Sempai Cara Michelle has been a huge advocate for ensuring correct body mechanics as we safely begin to push ourselves physically

As a senior student who has studied and with Sempai Cara Michele for more than three years, I can attest that the training is effective in both its martial nature and inner development. The group we have is supportive and encouraging for all who enter. It is a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. We welcome all, no matter what your level of training or familiarity of Aikido. I would encourage anyone to give us a try.

Every time I have joined this wonderful bunch practicing this peaceful art of defense, I have come out totally relaxed. My technique and temperament have greatly improved. The more you improve the more you realize what you need to improve upon, as goes the saying the quieter you become the more you are able to hear. Can't wait to join them on the mat again!

This is a great dojo. I used to take aikido classes back in my college days, and it was wonderful to be able to return to it and train with such a great bunch of people.
