American Stage
The brilliant Neil Simon once said, "Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity." Oscar is a slob. Felix is neat. Oscar loves his bachelorhood, and Felix is newly divorced. When the two decide to live together in the same apartment, how will they reconcile their differences? This Neil Simon comedy explores the relationship between two men who, despite their many differences, must find a way to live together.

Hailed as one of the greatest comedies of all time, "The Odd Couple" won the Tony Award for Best Play. The New York Times said, "There is scarcely a moment that is not hilarious." Since its premiere, the play has received two Broadway revivals, been adapted to a movie, inspired two sitcoms and has been staged by theatres around the world.
Services
Since 1977 American Stage has been dedicated to telling meaningful, compelling stories with integrity and professionalism. As the Tampa Bay area's longest-running, most critically-acclaimed professional theatre company, we seek to bring the power of quality live theatre to each generation in our community.
Of all of the challenges that have come with leading a performing arts company through a worldwide pandemic, the loss of the visceral impact of storytelling in a shared space, with performers crafting live characters and in-the-moment emotions, and with audiences providing honest and spontaneous reactions has been the most profound.
Get ready to kick off your Sunday shoes as the high-energy pop musical FOOTLOOSE dances into Demens Landing for American Stage in the Park's 2022 production. Based on the explosive rock-n-roll musical movie, this Broadway hit tells the story of Ren McCormack, a big-city teen who finds himself out of place in a rural town where dancing has been outlawed.
American Stage is committed to producing powerful and relevant professional live theatre. Our 21st Century Voices is an initiative dedicated to developing and presenting new works for the stage that speak to a contemporary audience in fresh and compelling ways.

21st Century Voices programming includes an annual staged reading festival, workshopping of new scripts, playwriting residencies and fully produced new plays receiving one of their first three professional productions at American Stage. This year we are seeking submissions of new plays that focus on multicultural storytelling.
Become a 2021-22 American Stage "For the Love of Theatre" subscriber and save up to 20% off single tickets prices. Great small theatre to see live performance. Refreshments with limited bar selections available prior to the shows. Parking is close by with garages or next to the church about one block away.

Worked a strike (show tear down) with them. Extremely unsafe conditions. Long story short. I ended up in the hospital because of crew/crew manager incompetence. They refused me getting medical attention and had to drive myself to ER with a head injury.

Romeo and Juliet in Williams Park. Where do I start? Oh , maybe since this production has been in Demons Landing for the last two DECADES???, you at least BOLD the tickets and point out the change in venue?
Then .. the disasterous stage void of any eye appealing presentation but more resembles a construction site.
And let’s not blame Covid.
Just awful snd should have never been done.

Play was fine, about 1h45m but the Flys were awful. If American stage wants to use this venue, they need to fix the fly problem. It's annoying and very distracting.

I love this theater located in Downtown Saint Pete. The play was amazing and empowering, fantastic acting , comfortable seats , and a small cafe that serves coffee and cocktail drinks . Definitely coming back
