Prestige Bariatric & Surgical Specialists
You have heard just about everything when it comes to weight loss. Media personalities telling you to eat this, not that, and exercise. Doctors informing you of your medical problems and to lose weight, or your medical problems will continue or worsen. And you have tried just about everything out there.

Things start out well initially, but then you get to a point where your weight just will not budge. Or perhaps you stop your diet and the weight comes back, along with maybe a little extra. It is as if no matter how hard you try, your body wants to be at its current weight, and you are fighting it.
Services
We are proud to provide a comprehensive program that approaches weight management before and after surgery from many different angles. We truly believe in creating a supportive community, so that people who have surgery with us can continue to thrive among the company of others who understand their circumstances.
We are proud to partner with healthcare professionals who work together to make our patients' weight-loss experience a lifelong success. Our multidisciplinary approach includes a team of dietitians, psychologists, maintenance programs and support groups that aide patients as they achieve and maintain their goals.
It has been widely described that weight can be controlled by controlling calorie intake amounts, and that the surgeries work mechanically by restricting the amount of calories consumed. However, more recently, we have come to learn that managing weight is much more complex and the surgeries work on a much deeper level to alter metabolism.
It is intuitive to think that we can control our weight by regulating our calorie balance. In other words, through burning calorieswith exercise and eating less, our calorie balance should be negative and weight should decrease. Most of us (about two-thirds of us) are wired genetically, through material handed down by our ancestors, to save those extra calories or to be "thrifty" with our calorie intake.
Surgery provides healthy weight loss through appetite modulation, rather than restriction and malabsorption. As we have discovered in the past 5-10 years, rather than being able to control weight through calorie balance, our weight is regulated by a preset thermostat. That means for many of us, it is very difficult to lose beyond 20-30 pounds, because our bodies start turning down our metabolism to work back toward that thermostat weight.

I can sing Dr. Gatchet praises all day long, and would not be able to do her justice.
She is amazing and has a wonderful team by her side. Mike and Shreem are friendly, and quick with scheduling and returning phone calls.
I had RNY done in 2017 and have lost a little over 100 pounds. Never once did I feel like I was rushed, or that she did not care about my questions/concerns.
Dr. Gatschet is kind, she listened to what had to say and addressed any and all concerns I had.
My recovery was practically painless. Follow her directions and plan and you will be on the right plath. Good luck, and thank

Dr. Gatschet and her staff are top notch. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or that I have failed in my journey! They have been nothing but encouraging and supportive. Dr. Gatschet is the best at what she does. I have had the bypass surgery with her 16 month ago and and a normal surgery with her. I will continue to see her. I would recommend Dr. Gatschet to anyone who is looking into Gastric bypass or Gastric Sleeve surgery!

Best doctor ever! Friendly staff, great dietician and fantastic doctor. What more could you ask for? I’m almost 3 months out from having sleeve surgery and best decision ever. Glad I chose this doctor to change my life! Highly recommend! If there were 10 stars I’d give her that!
