Everyone always seems miserable when you walk in, you always get an attitude from the staff. the whole place always seems dirty, the meat case is very unappealing & never filled. it does not make you want to eat here. also don't order a salad. the most expensive lettuce & slice of tomato. the pizza is subpar. if you want real good NY pizza / italian food go down the street to Mama Marias, staff is great & food is awesome. i really don't know how these doors are still open.

While visiting my parents, we came to Vastas for dinner. Out waitress was lovely! Renee was pleasant, attentive and kind. We ordered a pizza to start (well done is key!) and it was delicious and came to the table hot. We each had an entree as well and everything was prepared as ordered and the food was enjoyable! Would definitely come here again, we had a great experience!

Jesse is terrific waiter...took drink order as soon as guests arrived. Took order quickly, checked on needs st table several times, figured separate bills for table of 8 and even knows names of regular. Food is good and reasonably priced. Arrival of main course a little slow but restaurant was packed.

The attitude from the older waitresses and counter staff is horrible... I have called to order 4 separate times. The lady picks up, miserably says " vastas" I order, every time she's goes "30 minutes." And hangs up.. no greeting, no "thank you". Her tone sounds so bad.. I get there to pick up my pizza and every time they never greet you, they look pissed to even see you. Lg cheese pizza for $19.44 ... save yourself the sadness & the money & go to mama Maria's. They are so nice , friendly, and only $14 for a large cheese.. Vastas.. please hire new

A local, small town Catskills restaurant with a healthy respect for garlic. The food here is tasty, well made. Ambiance is nice and has cozy qualities. Kitchen and floor staff are quite accommodating to specific needs and wants of customers. And the case of various homemade baked goods surely can hit spot when in the mood for something sweet and flavorful. Leaving this review because I've been here many times and know it deserves a little more love on this page.

I took my mom and brothers here for lunch. The bang bang shrimp and boneless wings were delicious. I also enjoyed my buffalo chicken salad, but I felt they could have cut back on some of the chicken pieces. My fiancé enjoyed his rodeo burger and fries as well. We finished the meal off with a slice of cheesecake and snickers cake, both delicious. Due to lack of staffing, they only had one waitress who was also working the cash register, but she kept up with everyone very well and was quite pleasant. I always enjoy going here when I'm in the Stamford area.

Well worth the drive from Oneonta. The restaurant was clean, the food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and professional. My husband and I went on what we thought would be a quiet Wednesday night. The restaurant was full, but the service was quick and efficient. In fact we asked for a slow dinner so that we could relax and their timing of our appetizers, salads, and dinner was impeccable. The food was out of this world delicious. The prices were so reasonable considering the meal and service. I can not say enough. Yum

Cozy and comfortable... most all delicious food! Coming from downstate, it is a must have to get dinner at Vasta's. Have been coming for years and the food, plus extra special specials, family run and welcoming atmosphere make great dinner memories. We're stingy with our 5 stars but this one goes out for all the right reasons = food + welcoming atmosphere! Looking forward to the next visit!

I love off the beaten path restaurants and Vastas is a nice homey Italian restaurant, owner operated. The chains are cookie cutter, roadside restaurants like this are honest.
I had a local IPA, Nirvana by Omagang to start. Not over bearing. 6.5. the menu is extensive, typical fare. But I'm a ravioli kind of guy. Lexi was my server, fast, courteous: held out her hand for a shake and a smile.
I liked the garlic dip instead of the typical Olive oil and red pepper offering. My food was hot with a pleasant marinara. Good chewy bread served in a black cloth basket.

Just a few hundred feet south of the intersection of St. Routes 23 and 10, Vasta's is a find. Quality, great service and very reasonable prices. Under new management, (Welcome, Kurt and Lisa!) Vasta's is exploring new territory while keeping the tried and true. Try the crab cakes appetizer and explore the specials; stuffed sole was a welcome addition to the classic "red sauce" Italian menu.
Can't wait to come back and see what changes. And check out the bar AND bowling!
Dining outside is a great option too.

Their pizza is the best around, including Oneonta. My review would have been 4 stars, but I ordered the Shrimp Scampi over Angel Hair the other night. Yes, I ordered that but what I was served was more like Ramen Noodle Soup with shrimp (over cooked and unseasoned)! I don't know what the problem was. Maybe the pasta wasn't drained? I tasted no lemon, butter or wine. Good thing the company was paying for it.

BEWARE: I just tried ordering a pan of lasagna and they told me it was a 4% discount if I paid cash. Well I wasn't, like most people these days. She then told me the price plus 4%. That is not a discount, folks. I was in the hospitality industry for 20 years and have NEVER heard of this practice before on a large order. You make pasta dishes. Pasta is cheap. This makes you sound cheap and now I question where else you cut corners. I wanted to try your food, but now I am not going anywhere near your restaurant.

Nice couple who leave in the area recommended this restaurant to me. Most of the places were closed. When I got there it was around an hour before closing. The service was just okay I assume they probably want to go back home and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Food was delicious and I wish I could see more people hanging out around.

As many people have said, there is not many places to dine at in the area, and because this place is so popular and was recommended, I was excited to go. To me, there is nothing like a small town restaurant to make me really enjoy my meal.
Well. I didn't, and I felt terrible especially because this place was recommended by my boyfriend's parents who do enjoy this place. So take my review as you wish.

We started with the appetizer sampler. On the menu this is listed as: Mushrooms, zucchini, cauliflower, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders.

A solid 3.5 rounded to 4. Went in twice, first meal was a disaster second was a delight.
The good- chicken Caesar salad is an elegant surprise, really well done. Outside seating in the summer is pleasant, the tables and chairs need an upgrade.
The indifferent- service is slow and inattentive sometimes, other times wonderful, not consistent. Bowling isn't open as advertised.
The bad- fried vegetables were inedible, hard as rocks. Pizza is okay, taste and flavor wise, but could use some work on ingredient ratio. Can be overly doughy. I hear it's under new management this summer, good

We were staying at the Roxbury, and there weren't much options for late night delivery so we resorted to ordering from Vasta's. We ordered: 1) Buffalo Wings, 2) Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo w/ Spaghetti, 3) Pizza Pie (Ricotta, Mozarella, etc). Out of those 3 items, the most tastiest was the buffalo wings. The chicken & broccoli alfredo w/ spaghetti was the worst. The pizza was so-so (tasted better the next day when microwaved). Eating was a bit difficult because they did not provide any utensils (no fork or spoon) or napkins. Although the food wasn't the best, we were content
