O' Crab Cajun Seafood

Like you, I read all the negative reviews so arrived with some trepidation, almost choosing something else for lunch despite leaving home this morning knowing that this was what I wanted to try today.

I arrived just after opening and was promptly seated in the nearly empty restaurant, Thomas, my server, appeared momentarily. I inquired about a lunch menu, I'll touch on the response later, was directed toward the "popular" basket section, my drink and food order were taken in only a few minutes.

We had the best experience tonight for dinner at the O Crab in Boise. From the greeting our party of 11 received at the door to the sincere thanks and farewell we got on our way out, we enjoyed our family dinner so much. The restaurant was decorated so nicely and we had the most helpful waitress! I was blown away by her attentive service to our table. It was the worst food I have ever had. All 3 of us felt the same way. The people behind us, we gave them one of our craw dads. He said it tasted like mud. we all catch them around here and they are fresh and good. We didn't eat 1/2 of the food we ordered. It was too expensive even if the food had been great. Won't be back.

Our first visit was chaotic at the start and check-in was not smooth. Everybody was very friendly, but there was a wait at the entry. The problem? Multiple people had reservations that they couldn't find. They handled it pretty well and got us seated within 10-15 min of our set time. After that we had a server named Celyna that took great care of us and we had a good experience. The owner doesn't speak English very well but was friendly. First off the service was great our waiters name was Craig and he was the sweetest fastest moving person I have ever seen in my life! He really took care of us! The food is amazing! I ordered a seafood boil and the flavor was great. Everything was fresh. My husband ordered wings and Cajun shrimp Alfredo and wings. He loved it. My daughter ordered a shrimp basket and she loved hers as well! We’ll be back soon!

Great food, and loved the atmosphere. Our waitress Red was very prompt and the waitstaff in general was very cordial and attentive. Very good teamwork, it seemed that everyone on the floor was helping each other. It was just really nice to see. We had a large party and everyone's order came out hot and as ordered. Well done.

Had an amazing time here, the original sauce is amazing & everything tasted fantastic. We got snow crab, shrimp & clams. All the staff there was super nice. Definitely coming back soon!

During my time there the service was amazing. The server was patient with my questions since it was the first time that I went there. I got some the pick your catch of clams, king crab, and some shrimps head on. I have to specifically mention about the king crab. It full of meat and delicious with the special blend. The seafood with a bowl of rice was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place.

When I went there I first got an crab meat fries. I have to mention that the sauce on the crab meat fries is DELICIOUS. It tasted like fry sauce, but it’s something a little different. For the the main food, I got a PoBoy sandwich. This which is delicious as well. At last I got lemon cake for dessert. This cake wasn’t too sour, and had a little sweet in it. Which is perfect. I'll be honest, I almost didn't come here due to the reviews. My wife really wanted to try it but I tried my best to navigate away from this place. Ultimately, I dove deeper into the reviews and we came in and I'm so glad we did.

It was a Wednesday night, but I thought our service was spectacular. We absolutely loved our server Rochelle. It is not the restaurant's fault no one wants to work anymore so the yelp reviews should cut restaurants a break. They are doing their best to accommodate given the circumstances and I think we received phenomenal service.

The wife and I decided to try this seafood restaurant out for lunch a couple weeks back. I ordered a crab sandwich and my wife ordered shrimp Alfredo pasta. No where in the menu did it say that the crab sandwich was imitation crab. My sandwich was a cold French roll with a lot of shredded lettuce, and some immition crab meat. I paid a lot for a very poor, imitation sandwich with a terrible plate presentation. My wife had me try her shrimp Alfredo pasta and we both agreed its quality was that of a frozen TV dinner.

This isn't your normal boring seafood place this is Cajun seafood served Cajun style. The shrimp broil was great and served Cajun style with just the right amount of spice (mild) . Lots of flavor and the seafood was great. Service was great always attentive and friendly . I'll definitely come back again. Note they are working on a happy hour menu which should be up and running here soon management tells me so looking forward to that.

The owner of this business has purchased fake reviews from fake Facebook profiles for their Facebook business page. They have 148 reviews and an average 4.6 rating, but you don't have to look that closely to realize that the majority of those five star reviews are from fake profiles. To make it all the more apparent, I have put a laughing face emoticon next to each fake review. I spent over an hour reporting those fake Facebook profiles and reviews to Facebook in hopes they would do the right thing and remove them, as well as consider the legitimacy of that Facebook page. Portion on seafood is ridiculous . I'll let you be the judge, this is 1 lb of scallops $30.00 .Straight out of the bag , not tampered with at all .I actually mentioned it to the waitress which even she was surprised . We have been here several times and love it!!! We usually get the boils, add rice and boiled egg! So good and helps fill you up with things other than just fish. 100% recommend.

I ordered fresh oysters from them over 2 weeks ago and sent pictures of the spoiled oysters in hopes to get some sort of refund for my $22 order. I have not heard from them and wanted to give them a chance to fix this. I will never order/go there again and do not recommend!

This restaurant must be owned by a gang of investors who have no experience in the 'seafood' business; the 'chef' must have trained as a line cook at a no name diner in Montana, because its deep fried oysters were shameful...small, over-breaded and most certainly over-over cooked! I, too, was excited that a crab shop in Nampa would be great. Maybe if there was a detail oriented manager things would be different but at least find a chef that has a modicum of training or has spent some time east of the Mississippi River as oysters and shrimp are fairly easy to prepare properly

My wife noticed a TV ad for O'Crab in Nampa the other night and said she would like to try it. The next morning I Googled the place up and stumbled on the Yelp reviews. Now I don't write many reviews on Yelp, but I do rely on those posted by others when selecting a restaurant. As a result, I was a bit apprehensive but looked at the number of reviews (depth), what the comments were regarding (only Pepsi products and no Coke, I don't care), how far back the comments go and whether there's a trend.

Very happy with the food one so close to home. I feel sorry for them trying to open a restaurant when no one wants to work anymore. There is a 2 hour wait outside right now and all the tables are open. I had 1/2 pound dungy, 1/2lb shrimp and 1/2 snow crab with the o crab mild special seasoning. Its not often I clear my plate but man this was grub. Probably go spicy next time. Hush puppies appetizer with butter was good as well. Service was on point. Hang in there those in line they are down 3 bussers and 4 servers.

Now, not gonna lie, the negative reviews had me contemplating on going but only until they worked whatever kinks a new spot usually goes through. However, the craving for seafood was real and because I miss Hot n' Juicy, our cajun seafood spot from back home, we decided to give it try.

Maybe we got lucky or maybe they worked the kinks out quicker than expected but this place was good! Our first experience had zero issues and the food was amazing!

We'll revisit and see if we get the same service or not.

Asked manager if this was right...she looked a lil'shocked too at how little was on my plate. She took it to the kitchen to ask, came back and said yep, that's a pound, but I'll adjust the price.
Managers Note: I wasn't complaining about the price, my grip was it was not enough crab. Don't discount it, just add crab...duh

I made a reservation a week ahead of time, upon arrival was told they could not find my reservation but will put my party of ten ahead of the line. After a twenty minute wait in the unairconditioned waiting area I asked how much longer they thought the wait would be. I was told another two hours. It is very difficult to find a place for a large party on a Saturday evening. This was a birthday celebration dinner. My first experience was extremely disappointing.

I went with my parents to O'Crab and we were underwhelmed, sadly. We were seated quickly which was nice and the decor inside was nice. However, the service was mediocre. Our waitress was quite awkward and not very personable. When given our food by sweet girl from the back, we had to wait because we never received our silverware. We weren't checked in on while eating so we didn't have drinks halfway through dinner. After having our dirty dishes taken, we waited a while before having to flag down our waitress to get our ticket. Service was just slow but the food was enjoyable.
