We achieve this by using high quality ingredients, attention to detail, the customer experience, and creating a space that brings people together and helps them connect. Quality ice cream doesn't come from a store bought mix. It comes from passion and attention to detail.
We take pride in the hours we spend perfecting our recipes. The result of our dedication is a homemade ice cream experience that can't be found anywhere else. Best ice cream I’ve ever had! The specials combine unique flavors with great texture. I live in North Carolina but am usually in Lincoln 2-3 times per year. I always try to maximize my trips to 402 Creamery to try all the specials. The Bees Knees is my favorite. If they shipped via a service like Goldbelly I’d happily pay to have have their ice cream throughout the year. Just recently the “On a Roll” was another big winner.

A dozen crazy, unusual flavors, along with all of your faves, all fresh made on site. There was a solid selection of non-dairy flavors, including a Gluten Free dark chocolate and a GF, Dairy Free lemon blueberry... *salivates*
There were also several ways to convey your choice of delicacy to your happy face.
A rare 5 ⭐ well earned, we'll be going back!

Amazing ice cream. Featured flavors change every month with standard flavors that are always available me. If you come near the end of the month, they may be out of some of the seasonal flavors, but there's so many good options it shouldn't matter. And they have gluten free and vegan free ice cream options too!

This place has some great homemade ice cream. Had a few of their rotating flavors, but the standout to me was "Santa's favorite cookie". Had sweet cream ice cream (not vanilla), sugar cookies, sprinkles, and another cookie mix and it was excellent. The taste of the sweet cream ice cream tasted just like sweet cream and the sugar cookie that was infused into it gave it almost a chewy consistency which reminded me of a fresh baked cookie. Definitely stop by and see what they have.

I am a dairy free ice cream expert... and it's kinda rough to be me. A lot of the time, I'm pretending that it's good so I can talk myself into thinking it is as good as the real thing.
Hands down, this is the best dairy free ice cream I've had in my life. Creamy, flavorful, amazing. Kids got some sort of chocolatety cookie-ey ice cream goodness too. Absolutely fabulous.
We haven't been out at all since mid-March and taking a few kid scoops out to the kids to eat outside was the perfect treat. Can't wait to come back.

Came here after dinner on a Saturday evening. Even know we came in close to closing time and staff was still pretty friendly. There are a lot of great different flavors. I went with the standard rocky road. It was very good yet very sugary. I could see this place being very popular during the summer. I'd like to come back and try the different flavors.

I happened to be in downtown Lincoln with a friend and we were in the mood for ice cream we decided to give this place a shot. There are local flavors that I never saw before so I decided to give this place a shot. I had a scoop of you cake my day and chocolate milk and cookies. It was delicious! I loved how big they make the scoops too so I get to enjoy it even more. I highly recommend checking them out for a locally owned ice cream shop they're fantastic!

This is EPIC ice cream. By far Lincoln's best ice cream. With seasonal flavors each month.
They are located in downtown Lincoln Haymarket area. The staff is welcoming as you come in the door, and you can try all the different flavors.
They have a regular set of flavors including monster cookie, chocolate milk and cookies, and a variety of other flavors including one or two gluten-free options. They also have seasonal flavors that are delicious.
There is a small seating area, with plenty of room for you in a small group to settle down and eat some ice cream. You also can take away pints

Homemade ice cream, small store front with a small business feel, and craft flavors. What more could you want from an ice cream place? Don't come in here looking for the traditional flavors because what they have is oh so much better. Prices were extremely fair for what other ice cream places of their level usually are (in big cities at least). I got the almond brittle/salted ganache, and although it wasn't what I expected, WOW. Packed with flavor. I'll probably have to come back every time I come into town.

I enjoyed 402 Creamery and I thought the flavors were all great. It's in a trendy location and good for any late night sweet cravings. The menu is fairly traditional but the rotating flavors are a little more creative/different.
A few notes:
-They seemed a bit understaffed at one person working on a Saturday afternoon. My guess is that they pick up more business during the school year.
-The price point is high- $4 for a single scoop and unlike other ice cream places, a single scoop really means 1 large scoop, not 1.5. That being said, you can get a split scoop (which is more like 1.5 scoops

The ice cream is the creamiest and is packed with flavor! My favorite is the cinnamon snickerdoodle. Big chunks of snickerdoodle cookies laced throughout the cinnamon ice cream. It is phenomenal.
We were even a few minutes early (9 minutes before they opened), and the staffer noticed us loitering outside and welcomed us in early! It was perfect, because our lunch was ending shortly and we wanted a sweet treat before returning. What amazing service.

Amazing homemade ice cream in downtown Haymarket in Lincoln. Let me tell you I'm not really a lover of sweets and can pass up most deserts ...however, that is hard to do at 402 Creamery! Do not walk by without stopping in and trying it out !
Small quaint place with indoor seating . Unique seasonal flavors such as peach cobbler , blueberry pie (and more ) as well as the standing favorites such monster cookie (my favorite ), cookies and cream, almond brittle with salted ganache , etc ! Expect there to be lots of delicious bits of cookies and fruit and candy in your ice cream! Stop by and

The creativity here is a huge draw, and I love how artisan the flavors are compared to the competitor down the street. This newer location and indoor seating is plus for the sticky hot summer months. AC was on point on the warmest day in May we've had in many years.
They are vegan and gluten friendly, and the price point is high compared to a dollar cone of soft serve at a drive thru. I think you have to remember the time and effort it takes to make the ice cream from scratch with quality ingredients, and that is why a small cup is ~$5. I believe they are in some of the local grocery stores

Just went for the first time and I have to say I have been missing out since this place has been open! They switch of there flavors every so often and have about 10 seasonal flavors at a time. Everything looked delicious...
They will always have at least one vegan/gluten free option. This is what I ordered. I had the chocolate coconut ice cream and it was super creamy and delicious!!
492 makes their own ice cream so it is very high quality but pretty pricey. It was about $5 for a small but definitely worth it! Especially because a small was the perfect amount.
