Acupuncture treats a broad range of conditions from pain and nausea to anxiety and depression. Nikki works with patients to understand their condition and determine the best treatment. Nikki has made such an incredible difference in my life - she not only is extremely skilled in administering acupuncture treatments, but she also offers a warm and relaxed environment for her patients.
Prior to training as an acupuncturist, Nikki worked as a social worker with adolescents and facilitated support groups for pregnant teenagers and teenage moms. Nikki views pregnancy as such a special time in a woman's life and knew she wanted to specialize in working with pregnant women. During the Third trimester regular acupuncture can help prepare the body for labor.
Acupuncture is wonderful for helping to prepare the body for conception. It helps to get hormones in balance, regulate the menstrual cycle, reduce stress, increase blood flow to the uterus. For people struggling with fertility and seeing a fertility doctor for IUI or IVF, acupuncture is a beautiful complimentary medicine alongside the Western treatments that a patient is receiving.
Nikki has a psychology background and spent over 10 years working with adults and adolescents experiencing mental health issues. The beauty of acupuncture is that it treats both physical and emotional conditions, often how we feel emotionally affects how we feel physically and how we feel physically affects how we feel emotionally.
Acupuncture is a complete healthcare system that has been used for thousands of years to promote, restore and maintain good health. The philosophy underlying Acupuncture is that the body's life force energy Qi (pronounced "Chee" ) flows around the body through channels called meridians. When we are in good health the Qi flows around the body smoothly going to various organs, providing nourishment and protection.

If you are searching for where to get acupuncture, you can stop the search. Nikki Richman of Metsuyan Wellness is a miracle worker. She is truly a gem of a human and I have left each session with her feeling on top of the world. She is truly the most kind, supportive, gentle, and empathetic woman and extremely attuned to her patients' needs. It is clear that helping people through acupuncture is her life's passion and I for one am extremely grateful to have found her.

I can’t recommend Nikki and her work highly enough. Not only is she really skilled at her craft, quickly eliminating things like insomnia, aches and pains and hormonal imbalances, but she is an absolutely wonderful human being too! She is so calm, kind and understanding, as well as being a great listener. She always knows exactly what treatment to choose to make me feel better. I have been seeing Nikki for several years (every two to three weeks) and I can't begin to express how much I trust her expertise. She is a calming soul and the ambiance in her office reflects it. Nikki takes the time to get to know you and what might be troubling you physically, mentally and emotionally. She takes a holistic approach. I look forward to every session because I know I'm going to walk out feeling so much better than when I entered. You won't find a better acupuncturist in the DMV.

I was referred to Nikki by my acupuncturist in San Francisco. I have felt such a big shift in my body the last two sessions, and I am incredibly grateful for it. If you have ever gone through Lyme treatment, you know the hell it can be. Literally her sessions serve as a reset, a return to homeostasis (or as close as I can get to it right now). She's an intuitive practitioner, and has such a warm and calming spirit.
As a bonus, there are crystals sprinkled in every room, and the blue and white walls immediately relax you and invite you in.
There's plenty of parking available as well

I can't say enough amazing things about Nikki! She's caring, kind, attentive, professional and in tune with what you need at every treatment. She makes every effort possible to maximize your treatment. During my fertility journey, including IVF, Nikki was with me every step of the way, including the day of our transfer, and now we have a healthy, beautiful boy. I'm still a loyal client to this day. I had needle phobia for as long as I could remember and because of how gentle Nikki is and how good I feel afterwards, my needle phobia is behind me!

Nikki is incredible! I've seen an number of acupuncturists over the years and no one compares to Nikki. Nikki has helped me with various issues and can pinpoint exactly what I need even when I'm not sure of it myself. She goes so far beyond what's expected to ensure my comfort and is extremely honest, reliable, and nonjudgmental. She's also the best listener. I could talk to her for hours! Nikki was nothing short of wonderful with my daughter who has multiple health conditions that cause pain, GI and pelvic problems. We saw her on a recommendation of a friend.
Nikki spent a significant amount of time wanting to know about my daughter's health history, treatments and medications. Since this takes a long time to explain, Nikki regularly paused to asked my daughter if she needed a break or some water. She was so sweet and never rushed us.
Her office is a little tricky to find and it's a good thing that she provides details when you connect with her. The Office is clean
