My girlfriend and I went to Smyths last Saturday evening. A young man and his son were in front of us in the long line. When he paid and got his order he asked that he "pay it forward" with his change, $11.00 and pay for the next order behind him which was us. When he walked away he wished us a good evening. When we approached the window we watched in horror as the cashier laughed and shoved the change into the clear plastic tip cup on her counter. In all of my years I've never seen anyone do this. Sad.
