Carol's Plant Shed is founded, owned and operated by Carol (Borella) Ebbitt. The business started with very humble beginnings. At the age of 15, Carol started selling plants off a flatbed trailer in front of her parents business. Her parents Anna & Sam Borella were the founders of Borella Nursery located at 194 Smithtown Blvd. in Nesconset, New York.
They were wholesale growers supplying garden centers and landscapers with plants. They grew bedding plants, hanging baskets, shrubs, perennials and all types of bulbs for Easter. In the spring Carol would sell their plants on Easter and Mother's Day plus weekends. She did this for years while finishing her education.

I went in to buy some plants that had 2 or 3 fer's
price but were different in style but same price & the guy behind counter (owner ?) would not let me mix purchase!!! With a nasty & arrogant attitude?? I walked out never to return! Give them time they'll go out of business with this attitude!

So, I just came home from picking up mums and cornstalks, and wanted to share how great the mums are!! I'm so glad I didn't buy from them BJ's. They had many to choose from and the prices were right. Nice bonus is that they have Halloween blow-ups displayed to entertain the kids!! Not only will I be recommending them, but I'll be back to get some of their homemade pies for Thanksgiving!! Thanks for the assist in my decision making. I'll be back!!

I made the mistake of going here looking for some plants. The owner cursed me out after not buying anything after following me out to my car. In 30 years or retail I have never seen that. I went to another nursery nearby and started talking with one of the workers and told him what just happened and he told me they hear that all the time. Do not waste your time, the owner is crazy and does not deserve a dime of your money. Would be nice to post no stars.

Great place to get high quality plants and garden décor. We love stopping in to see what's new. They are always changing the items they carry, so each year there is something new to buy.
Friendly staff, you can ask Carol anything.
Great place for the novice gardener. Bring in a picture of your flower bed and they will help you pick the right plants and tell you how to lay them out.

Very good outdoor and indoor plant nursery. Smaller selection but the plants are high quality.
Also has a nice selection of unique outdoor porch and patio home decor not found at local big box or home center stores. A much better selection of not-your-run-of-mill items my opinion.
Friendly and helpful staff.
