Richard Ryu, a board certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, is the senior member of the Ryu Hurvitz Orthopedic Clinic. He is also one of the founding members and the current Surgical Director for Summit and Premier Surgery Centers located in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Ryu utilizes minimally invasive and open surgery procedures to restore injured soft tissues and bones within the shoulder and knee joints.

Dr. Hurvitz also has extensive experience in the treatment of fractures, foot and ankle disorders and sports injuries, as well as total joint arthroplasty (replacement) techniques.Dr. Graham Hurvitz completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of California at San Diego.

I am so thankful I went with Dr Ryu over my other options. He is all about results, and not afraid to say it like it is. He may not have the most gentle “bedside manner”, but I respect that! I dislike being babied and I’m all about achieving the best outcome possible... Dr Ryu was the perfect choice for me and the results speak for themselves. 16 years post op and my acl (cadaver ligament) replacement is still holding strong! His post op rehab team pushed me hard, and again that’s what I wanted... I’ll slack if I’m allowed to but they didn’t let me dictate my rehab timeline one bit

Dr Ryu was recommended to me 10 years ago when I had a meniscal injury. Recommended by several doctors in town, many of whom I work with as I too am a physician, I took their advice. My surgery and recovery went great. I was 100% satisfied with my results. Now that I have sustained a new meniscal injury the choice was easy. I am post op 1 month and am nearly back to normal. I never had any pain or significant swelling after the surgery and could not be happier with his service. Perhaps the best arthroscopist I have ever encountered. Thank you Rick.
