Many factors have contributed to this decision, and it was not made lightly. For the past five years Lake Ellen Camp has struggled to build camper and staff numbers, improve its donor relations, and increase its network of church and individual partners. Attempts were made to overcome these difficulties and the staff worked very hard to build a great camping experience.
However, our organizational and financial weaknesses were exposed by the impact of 2020's shutdown, and we have been unable to recover. We are very thankful for our supporters and partner churches and for the support of Converge Great Lakes over the past years. Our staff have worked hard to try and turn things around and we are very grateful to them for all the hard work and commitment.

Services
In 1958, a group of Pastors and Elders from several local churches gathered to purchase the plots of land that would become Lake Ellen Camp. Over the years Lake Ellen has had the privilege of seeing thousands of campers of all ages make life-changing decisions for Jesus Christ. It is still our primary mission to provide that wilderness camp experience for our guests to get away from the stresses of daily life and grow closer to an Almighty God.
