Established in 1989 in San Luis Obispo, The Fitting Image has been the Central Coast's trusted choice for repairs, mending, alterations, and tailoring for over 30 years. The Fitting Image's mission is to use experience, knowledge, and creativity to help people of all body types in our community look good, feel comfortable, and get the most out of their items.
The Fitting Image provides complete clothing alteration services for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. For alterations to items where length is important (such as pants, skirts, and dresses) please bring in the shoes you will wear with the garment. We are typically unable to provide a price quote over the phone.

I love, and highly recommend, this place! I just had my wedding dress altered by a woman named Bella and she did a splendid job of making the dress my size (she took it in). I am so impressed because the lower half of my dress is a smooth, crepe, material and yet you can't tell where she took it in, that's how seamless it is! And she also added some lace that matches the lace on my dress to a T without being able to tell where the line is from the original to the new addition.
Again, I've had only good experiences here with other dresses as well! Highly recommend :)

My wedding dress turned out absolutely beautiful and Bella was amazing to work with. She worked quickly but thoroughly and was detail oriented. Totally recommend this place and Bella in particular!

My dress needed hemmed, brought in in several places (multiple times because I lost a couple lbs), lace applique was added to my train, and the straps were shortened. Bella also added green sashes to my flower girl dresses.

They are AMAZING! I bought a pair of vegan leather thigh high boots that did not fit past my calves and they added material that complements my boots perfectly and now they fit amazing! I went from Cambria to Santa Maria and no one would touch them. I was devastated and thought I would have to return my dream boots. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and great detail to my boots!

I dropped off 6 shirts for miner alterations. A work trip came up unexpectedly and I needed two shirts back quickly (like a week early). I dropped by to grab two shirts and they were to able to slide me forward on all six! What a pleasant and unexpected surprise. They have a great operation. You are in great hands here!
