Working as a general contractor in the Pittsburgh area, Avanti Construction has built many projects of varying sizes and scope. We apply our trademark craftsmanship and proficient service to every project from small renovations to complete new custom homes. Even before construction documents are finalized, we can provide a preliminary estimate.
Avanti Construction began as a family business in 1983. Brothers Saverio Jr. and Joseph Strati were familiar with the construction field when their father Saverio Strati, Sr. lost his job with the closing of a local steel mill. Seeking to gain an income through rental properties, Saverio Sr. purchased a small apartment building in desperate need of renovations.
We have developed a flexible process of addressing critical questions and concerns before construction commences to give clients the best understanding of their options. We collaborate with the architect and subcontractors regarding the details necessary to achieve an excellent finished product.

Avanti actually had the privilege of working on this residence twice. We built the original structure as our very first custom home project for a single homeowner. Years later, the homeowners called Avanti back to expand their home for a growing family. The new addition, like the existing home, is constructed entirely out of wood and brick, from floor to ceiling.
Looking to create a comfortable space to relax, the homeowners wanted to build an addition to house a new family room and expanded dining room. The project architect selected a foundation system Avanti had not used before, so we carefully studied all the new product materials.
Moving forward we scheduled meetings with the manufacturer's representative, the architect, and all of our carpenters and subcontractors who would be working with the product to ensure proper installation.Through this open and fluid communication, the foundation proceeded exactly as projected and safely supports a fantastic addition to the home.
