At Alabama Youth Ballet (AYB), every student is given dance instruction that meets the highest standards of professional training. Our program provides a solid technical foundation in a warm and caring environment. We specialize in teaching dance in a manner that builds self-esteem, so that everyone from the beginner to the pre-professional dancer can excel at each level.

Services
Keren Gibb Hilliard began her dance training in Mobile as a child and continued to study during her college days in Montgomery, performing with local dance companies and theater groups in both cities. She taught dance classes at Huntingdon College while a student there and completed her degree at UAH in Huntsville.
There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee per dancer. There are registration forms in the office where you can also make payment with cash or check. There is a non-refundable annual registration fee of $25.00 per student. Tuition is due on the 1st day and payable by the 10th day of each month, September through May.
It provides an excellent foundation for the study of all forms of dance. Pre-ballet is for ages 6 & 7. Based more on ballet principles, but still emphasizes the "fun" aspects of dance. Ballet 1 is for ages 8 and up with no dance experience or for age 7 with previous dance training. Beginning ballet technique includes barre, center, and traveling exercises.
To praise the Lord and offer worshipful movement through dance which is a gift that comes from God. Attend rehearsals as set by the director. Most rehearsals will be two Fridays a month from 4:45pm-5:45pm, additional rehearsals may be scheduled before performances. Approximately 1-2 performances a semester at a local church or other venue, each dancer must perform in a minimum of 1 performance per semester.

AYB is an amazing studio! It offers excellent instruction in many different disciplines of dance in a family friendly, supportive environment. The teachers are excellent and tuition is affordable. I also appreciate that AYB uses tasteful and age appropriate music, choreography, and costumes. There are classes available for every age (even adults) and every level (beginner to advanced). In addition to ballet there are classes in jazz, tap, hip hop, pilates, and musical theatre. There are also beginning level classes for teens and adults looking to either get back into ballet or try it for the first

Thanks to Mary Halverstadt, my daughter started dance at this studio when she was four. Since then she has grown to love all forms of dance, and she loves educating the community about ballet through library and school demonstrations and theater performances. We are so thankful to have this studio and its directors/teachers in our community!

This is by far my favorite dance studio in Huntsville. I think it's important to mention that AYB is the ONLY STUDIO THAT ACCEPTS ADULTS AND CHALLENGES THEM. Most studios in Huntsville don't accept adults, and the ones that do place you in the "adult" or "open" classes, which aren't as challenging. This studio has adult classes too for those adults looking to get back into dance or do it as a hobby, but they also let adults take with whichever level they are at, meaning they can be in the youth classes if that's the skill level they are at. The youth classes are more challenging than the adult
