I received my Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science - Psychology from Mount Mary University in 2001 and my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Marquette University in 2004. I am dually licensed and board certified as both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
When was the last time you felt completely stress and worry free for an extended period of time?. Is it difficult to get a good night's sleep because you have too many thoughts swirling around in your head?. Do you find yourself becoming more and more unhappy, but you just cannot turn off your head?.
Are there days where you just go through the motions, and everything just seems pointless?. Are there times that you feel so overwhelmed that everything in your life seems unmanageable and out of control?. No one maintains a constant state of happiness. That's not realistic. Instead, life is a multitude of emotions: happy, sad, thoughtful, melancholy, fearful, contented, fearless and so forth.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. It has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of traumatic events.
The teen years can be a confusing and difficult time in a child's life. There can be worries about identifying a future career. A child can struggle with figuring out who they are as a person and how they fit into the world. Friendships become more and more important as a child begins to detach from the family and slowly gain independence.

I cannot say enough good things about Kathy as a counselor. I never dreamed I would have the quality of life I do now and that is largely thanks to Kathy's amazing therapy.
