I always enjoy my visits ti English. There's always someone to ask for help and they're pretty friendly about it. I've found their prices, at least for lumber, on par with the giant stores that are a million miles away.

Can’t walk into English’s without being confronted by an employee asking if you need anything. So refreshing after searching for a Lowe’s employee for hours, to no avail. Support a local business, get some help, and possibly even save money depending on what you get, by going to English’s.

English is not a big box store but they have every thing I've ever needed. The employees are always happy to take care of you. Great experience every time I've been there. Would definitely recommend them.

What a great place. If you burn actual cash to heat your house this is the place for you, everything cost way more then it should. Yes the location is convenient but only if you have an emergency or need to buy a single bolt, 2x4, or 1 ounce of paint. Everyone can make it rain so that's not an issue. Buisness hours are are also greatly convenient! Good luck figuring those out because they change when someone needs a late lunch, and if it's the weekend your screwed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The drive to Lynchburg is almost always cheaper, faster and yes even more convienant

I really like this store. It is really clean and neat. The customer service is excellent. They have a wide variety of construction items, such as sinks, ceiling tiles, plumbing items, electrical items, yardwork supplies, tools, knives, and they even carry clothes.

I just moved to the area and within the last two months I have spent over $1,500 in this store. Today I had to take back a flapper, that I bought there last week, as it was defective. They would not return my money nor give me a store credit because I did not have the receipt. I have taken things back to Lowe's and Home Depot with out a receipt and there are no problems. It was only a $4 item, but you would expect a little more personal attention from a local vendor. Thus, make sure you save your receipts.
