In the 1950's I was born into a military family, and duty to our country was always important to my family. I don't think there was any question that I would follow in my fathers foot steps. I joined the United States Air Force in the 1970's and never looked back. I then worked in the automotive industry before retiring at Offutt.
After I retired I decided that the automotive industry was turning into a remove and replace career, so I decided to switch gears and go into plumbing, where repair is the life line. I went to work for a national leader in the plumbing and drain cleaning industry. I spent 14 years before I decided it was time to branch out on my own and run a more customer service oriented company.

Services
We often ask ourselves what the important things are when looking to hire someone to work in our homes or places of business. Here at Drain Smith we emphasize four main points that are important to us and as such they should be important to you as well. 1. Response Time: Our average response time in 2010 was 38 minutes.
We at Drain Smith provide 24 HOUR SERVICES, 7 DAYS A WEEK with no additional charges on weekends. We will clean drains anytime and anywhere within our service area. We specialize in sewer and drain cleaning, and provide a full drain cleaning service for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Our service area consists of seven counties. Three counties in Iowa consisting of Harrison, Pottawattamie, and Mills counties. We also service four counties in Nebraska. These counties include Washington, Douglas, Sarpy and Cass. Even though we cover 3,648 square miles within these seven counties, we are willing to drive outside the established areas, but we will require at least a one day notice.
Q: What clogs a drain and how can I prevent it from happening? A: The most common blockage with a kitchen sink is garbage and grease. Most sinks have a disposal that will grind up food to the consistency of coleslaw and force it down the line. Grease that is put down the line will usually start to gel within 4' or 5'.
