Sun Control Retractable Shades was started in 1997 by husband and wife team Ian and Billie Meuschke. They had the simple goal of providing quality sun control products for a fair price and spent the next 13 years providing shading for the residents of Southern Arizona.

Solar Station with the option to mount directly on a box shade or externally on an exposed shade. The external mounted Helios System provides flexible mounting options for exposed exterior shades, conveniently providing the use of solar power in low light areas.
The Standard Exterior Retractable Sun Shade is a high quality, custom built retractable exterior shade. The Standard Sun Shade can be ordered up to 14' wide and 12' tall. This shade is perfect to shade outdoor areas, windows and doors and is designed to be used in mildly breezy conditions. Choose any of our Premium control options to motorize and automate the operation of your retractable shade system.
The HD Magnetic Lock System is a custom built exterior shade that uses magnets installed at the ends of the bottom bar to hold the fabric tight and reduce movement in windy conditions. The HD Fabric Retention Track Shade is a custom built exterior shade installed with a track that holds the fabric inside the track.
The Canopy Tension Screen is engineered to operate without the need for a slope or incline which makes it perfect for decks, patios or skylights. Would be 5* but the instruction and YouTube videos for setting up the phone control device are not user friendly at all. Even following every step in the videos I still can't control the device. But other than that this is an amazing product and I'm actually thinking of having another side of my patio done. It made the patio a place I can enjoy. It's a great product and if you use the remotes it's easy to set up and control. Highly recommend them just wish they would invest in an easy phone control system or invest in the set up directions a bit more.

The only negative I can say about this purchase/installation dealt with the time it took to fabricate the shade and install it. During covid, there were disruptions to supply lines so this is probably the reason for the longer than, I felt, reasonable delay.
Once the installers arrived, I've nothing to say but praise for them; in this regard I would give them a 6 stars if possible. It was obvious that they were professionals and acted that way. Very efficient installing and demonstrating how everything worked along with caveats about high winds, etc. They made me, as a customer, feel valued.

Great customer service along with a great product! These shades have made all the difference! It keeps out the East sun in the morning and the West sun in the afternoon. (See the photos for a before and after installation). Not only does it provide shade, but it also decreases the heat coming in. My air conditioner is working less and my electricity bill is lower. During the day, you can't see inside of the building, so it provides privacy. Yet, you can see out the window clearly. During the night, when the lights are off, you can't see inside either. We have many different dimensions of windows

This company is genuinely excellent, across the board. The consult, installation, and hardware are all outstanding. The installation crew was professional, polite, and answered all of my questions with authority and knowledge. I cannot recommend Sun Control highly enough - this company sets the high bar for how to run a business successfully. Good work, keep it up!

From the initial phone call to Sun Control, to getting my estimate from Ken Martinson, to having it installed earlier than promised, it has been a wonderful experience! The shade looks beautiful and blocks the direct sun from 3:00 PM to sunset and my house doesn't heat up to 86 degrees anymore! I would recommend this company to anyone that needs shades. Get the remote control! So worth it!!

Wonderful product and company! They installed two outdoor sunshades for us on our patio to block the afternoon sun. The crew was courteous and professional and was meticulous in cleaning up after install. The price was reasonable and the quality of the shades is high. We would definitely use them again.
