Gumba's Italian Restaurant
For almost 30 years now we've called Sunnyvale home, serving up traditional Italian dishes all made from scratch right here in house. We love seeing the look of delight on a guest's faces when they take that first bite, and it's hard not to smile when you're enjoying some gumbalicious pasta or a slice of hot, fresh pizza.

Aside from the classics, we also serve a variety of signature salads, vegetarian options, and even weekend brunch to enjoy, as well. Whether you're stopping by for a workday lunch, dinner with the family, or heading out with friends for Sunday funday, we're always here to welcome you!
Services
At Gumba's Italian Restaurant, we offer a wide range of authentic Italian menu items such as pastas, pizzas, salads, seafood dishes and more, made with fresh local ingredients. We have a fine selection of wines and we guarantee you'll be delighted, from the first sip of wine to the last bite of our tiramisu.

Odd little dining room, not the cleanest but serviceable. Chicken parm sandwich was very good. Pricey, but normal for the area.
Lost one star because I handed my card to the server without looking at the check (my fault) and when I went to sign the receipt noticed I had been charged for an extra beer. The server kinda tried to apologize but seemed almost uncomfortable. I asked for another beer rather than messing with a refund. It left a bad taste in my mouth after a decent meal.

Came here years ago for the pizza, struggled to find this place, but I found it again after some CIA backtracking on my girlfriend's Instagram. Good thing these tech companies save anything and everything about you! Need to write a review so I remember where this is next time.. Pizza was so good and cheesy, I go to bed dreaming about the pizza and wake up wanting the pizza. Get the pepperoni pizza once and you'll never have to eat ever again..

It has a decent number of vegetarian pizzas and at a reasonable rate. The seating area is also huge.
Would recommend going there!

I give it a 4 because it is really good but there's one flaw-- the flaw is that it is so good that you are going to eat a bunch of their pizza and they don't tell you to save room for the ice cream at the end! So that is why I give it a 4-star review. You're welcome!

I am appreciative of you wanting to hear more and improve.
1. pizza was just not tasty. The one thing I can think of is that it felt as if the olives (topping) had not been cooked for enough time. This topping issue was not too bad, but a clear lever for you to improve on. But, even if the toppings were perfectly made, the pizza was just not good enough (maybe it's the ingredients, maybe the process... I am not sure)
2. Service was not great, server was unfriendly and super rushed. for example when I asked what sauce I can have for the side of salad, he replied "check in the menu" and just left

This is the second weekend in a row that we ordered from Gumba's! We wanted to try their pizza. We got a large customized pizza...omg, it was amazing! I'm not a crust person, but I ate the crust, too. The price point for a customized pizza here is not bad and totally worth it.

We also got the lobster ravioli, order of meatballs, and clam chowder. The lobster ravioli was just as good as last weekend. The meatballs were also delicious and a good size. The clam chowder was creamy and buttery.

You gotta try this place out, so delicious!

Well...
Service is ridiculous bad!!! Super slow and the staff just makes you feel very unwelcome since you seat, and don't even try to approach and ask to take the order, they simple ignore you and take the order whenever they think it's a good time.

Plates were dirty, and well... food very mediocre tasted worse than frozen pizza.

The food is not good. Gave this place a second chance, twice and I for sure will not be going back. For this last meal I had the chicken parm. It comes with a side of pasta with meat sauce, a side salad, and garlic bread. I would not recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

The pasta is over cooked. The meat sauce has a bad flavor that taste burnt. The salad consist of overly wet lettuce and a slice of tomato. The dressing that comes with the salad looks and tastes watered down. The seasonings they use do not taste fresh. The seasoning taste like old dried herbs.

Overall the meal was

Great food and friendly service. Excellent pizza, pasta, and sandwiches with ample serving size. We had a mini (large for a mini!) cheese pizza as an appetizer and meatball and chicken parmesan sandwiches on this visit. The chicken breast was large, and nicely cooked, moist, and flavorful.

The only thing that I can complain about was trying to find parking when we were getting to this place. Gumba's is an acquaintances favorite Italian place so we had to go. I'm on a roll to find good Italian food in the Bay Area ever since we went to NY. Right off the bat - the best thing about this place is the lunch deal that they have. They had a variety of dishes for roughly $12. I ended up with the chicken parmigiana with a side of pasta. I left the chicken parm with the original sauce but substituted the pasta sauce with pesto. Bad move on my part for the pasta since I did not enjoy

Had a great breakfast. At this rustic Italian Restuarant. My outdoor dining felt like I was at a Italian Villa. Our Italian server was awesome and welcoming. My Denver omelette with smothered mozzarella cheese was spot on ...coffee was delicious.

This is a great red-gravy Italian restaurant with a wonderful selection and great atmosphere. Sitting outside on Murphy Street is a real treat. We happened to be there on Tuesday of last week (July 29th) and Papachay Peruvian coffee from Grinchos happened to be there. It's really neat that Gumbas supports local business and I'm hopeful to see the coffee there more in the future - very tasty and a nice way to finish off a great Italian meal!

I love eating outdoors on Murphy Street on a beautiful California day.

Mr. M's snow crab ravioli in creamy pesto was to die for! My penne with prawns and broccoli was good. The house salads were nice, but my caesar was drowning a bit. Service was good!

I play pool at Lucky Shot on Sunday afternoons, so I think I will be exploring or rediscovering a lot of the Murphy Street gems.

This is a good spot for late night Italian takeout. I ordered Fettuccine Chicken Primavera, Spicy Wings, and 1/2 order of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. The fettuccine was very good. Came with a side of minestrone soup and garlic bread. They have a variety of different pasta dishes to choose from. The wings were good too, i wasn't expecting so many to come in the order and they weren't those tiny wings you get at some places. The kids menu spaghetti with meat sauce was standard, i liked it. Yes i ordered all this food for myself LOL. I wasn't expecting the portions to be so big! Now

The service was really slow. There were only few people working at the kitchen and there were only 3 tables to serve during my meal. Still we had to wait more than 15 minutes just to get our order in. After having a long wait, I was not satisfied with the food. The pizza was cold when it came and the texture of the bread was quite disgusting. The lasagna was also terrible. It was incredibly salty! Not to mention how unhygienic this restaurant is. The utensils were awfully cleaned. I was definitely expecting more from the hygiene during these times of covid. I thought I was done with this horrendous

Came on a Sunday for lunch as this 'al fresco' closed (Murphy) street provides a peaceful oasis experience in the city here. Service was overall good with a couple additional items to note: waitress was attentive and readily available if we needed anything but brought a wrong item and the correct item was delayed; talpia plate was a bit too salty but good otherwise. The chicken, sauces, and noodles were cooked well and flavor was great. Plenty of space for outdoor seating and no wait time for our party of 4.

My husband and I had a nice dinner at Gumba's. We sat outside which was nice. The spacing between tables was great and the tables were clean. We had an umbrella at our table which kept the sun off us and the table.
Everything was delicious with the exception of the green house salad. The lettuce was fresh but the Italian dressing had little favor. It was like water. The clam chowder was good.
The chicken marsala was very good. I asked them to add the side of pasta to the marsala. The baked rigatoni was good. My husband had an Italian sauce added which was placed on top.

It was a good dinner

Had such a lovely evening at dinner in their outdoor dining area. I ordered the gluten free penne version of their chicken primavera ($21.95) and really enjoyed it! The pasta texture was perfection and I'm definitely going back for their sauce. Love how it included mushrooms, broccoli, and asparagus. Pasta also comes with a side salad (fresh and crunchy lettuce with dressing, I like ranch on the side) and garlic bread (not gluten free, but very delicious).

This family friendly pizzeria and restaurant has been a staple for our Friday evenings during the shut down. The staff are friendly and slices are a solid go to for the whole crew. Though this isn’t a fine dining place, or a wood brick oven spot, the vibe is informal, relaxed, and happy to have you as their guests. Great for kids and large parties.

Came here for lunch with my family and had the worse experience ever.
Server was rude and, and service was absolutely slow and terrible.
We ordered 2 pasta dishes, which tasted horrible. The sauce was bland and they just gave huge amounts of bland noodles. They got the dressing all wrong too. We ordered French and Italian dressing, and they brought ranch dressing. The side salad also just came with lettuce and one slice of tomato. Service was horrible-- garlic bread came after we were finished with our entire meal. I got the shrimp salad, which came with the smallest type of shrimp, which was
