Brush Factory studio began in 2009 by partners Rosie Kovacs and Hayes Shanesy to pursue design and craftsmanship under one roof. From our workshop in Cincinnati, Ohio our wood workers build modern furniture and case goods with care and precision using traditional joinery and solid wood construction.
We have built custom furniture and case goods for many of the restaurants, boutiques, and offices in the newly revitalized Over-the-Rhine neighborhood and beyond. We believe that our honest design sensibilities and passion for well made products have the power to inspire and connect you to your surroundings.

Services
Brush Factory designs and handcrafts custom wood furniture and case goods for commercial and residential spaces with an emphasis on simple contemporary design, and natural materials. We build pieces ranging from custom cabinets, tables, benches and fixtures for the commercial industry, retail, home and office and offer a made to measure furniture line called bff (Brush Factory Furniture).
Opening a brick and mortar store in 2016 was a dream! That dream came true and we had a blast. We had some parties, got to know our neighbors, hosted workshops and sold lots of beautiful home goods and enjoyed being a part of the Over the Rhine retail landscape. For the next step in our journey, we are focusing on our rapidly growing custom client business.
We work with interior designers, architects and residential clients to design the perfect solution for their renovation, remodel or new construction projects. We are a team of designers, not just fabricators. The combination of these two skills gives our customers the confidence in knowing that we can be involved in the planning process and design a functional and beautiful piece within budget and on schedule.
These mixes are purely for your enjoyment. We started putting them together in 2015 when we had our furniture pop up showroom in Cincinnati, OH. We decided to share a new mix with you every 3 months. Great care is taken to skillfully match the individual boards that make up every piece of our furniture. After the lumber is rough sawn, it is transported from the mill to our Camp Washington workshop. There it is cut, surfaced, joined, sanded and finished. After each piece of furniture is carefully hand sanded, catalyzed lacquer is sprayed in three coats with a light sanding in between coats.
