We need a dry, smooth subfloor and if necessary we sand it and clean it thoroughly for preparation. In some instances we can leave vinyl flooring down if the sub floor is thick enough, and if the vinyl is in good condition. Our high quality stains come in a variety of shades and patinas. They are designed to penetrate and seal the wood, while adding luxurious color.

Normal cleaning requires only dry or dust mopping. It is important to have remove any sand or grit before it has a chance to be ground into the floor finish. Floor life will be lengthened by using floor mats or rugs placed at entryways, bathroom exits, or other high traffic areas to protect the finish from excessive dirt or moisture.

Why hardwood floors? Hardwood floors are durable, long lasting and beautiful. The natural colors and patterns found in natural wood create a comfortable and inviting living environment. Is it true that hardwood floors provide a cleaner home environment? Absolutely. Carpeting attracts and holds many allergenic spores, dust-mites, bacteria, fungi, animal dander and other unhealthy microbes.

The temperature and relative humidity be at "normal living conditions" or between 60 & 80 degrees Fahrenheit with 30-50 percent humidity for at least 6 days prior to the wood flooring being delivered. Moisture testing should be the responsibility of the wood floor and/or general contractor. Furniture, appliances, and old floor coverings should be removed from rooms where flooring is being installed.
