We've produced historical plays based on local figures such as the Confederate spy, Emeline Pigott; on Blackbeard, the pirate; and on Otway Burns, privateer. Early productions ranged from comedies to tragedies and from one-acts to musicals. In recent years, musicals and children's shows have been high on our audiences' popularity list.
Altogether, in the past 68 years, we have mounted over 200 major productions. Starting in 1994, we have co-sponsored residencies each year with the Missoula Children's Theatre, giving local children unique theatrical opportunities. The establishment of the LeRae Kesel Fund enabled us to assist various programs to aid county children in theatre arts.

I used to go to the theater as a kid. Glad it's a community theatre now. I'd love to go in an update the layout to make it more condusive for the actors. NBHS had the same issues but I think that theater has great potential in design. The actors are local and may love performing more in a better layout.

The show last night was great. The actors were good I really enjoyed the night. Except!!! When we walked into the theater after buying our general admission tickets and found they had most of the seats were reserved seats. Whoever reserved those seats for carteret community theater needs to learn what general admission tickets mean no seats can be reserved.

Went to a rock concert; Fleetwood Mac cover band. They had a rule of no standing during songs. They had security guards to enforce it. We thought it was a dumb rule and detracted from the whole eve - after a 4 hour drive in the rain to get there. Band was great - will be surprised if they return to the venue. But heck, what do I know...

I just drove up from Wilmington and watched a very talented Fleetwood mac tribute band called Rumors. I was really impressed with the band and theater staff, even the big security guy who was forced to make EVERYONE!! sit down or leave. Which brings me to my point, this would have received a 5 star rating if they would allow a certain section of the theater to stand up and dance. Probably shouldn't let the few make up rules for the many.

Went to the Theater last night to see Rumours, Fleetwood Mac Tribute. The band was awesome, however the audience was prevented to showing them just how awesome they were. The Theater will not allow you to stand at all. They have security guards watching. It just was not a fun Venue for such a great band. I definitely see them again when they play at the House of Blues.
I have been to several plays which feature local actors. All of those plays were phenomenal and there is great talent in this county. This is a perfect Venue for those performances.

Our seating was in section 1 AA seats 6-8. Would recommend standing at very back over these as view was mostly blocked by stage column.
Also, we took our child to see "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" expecting an actual play but it was a playing of the movie which we have and would've watched at home if had known. Politely exited early and considered a learning experience.

This was a fantastic production! The voices were superlative, acting was delightful and costumes gorgeous! It was a first night, but you sure couldn't tell. The orchestra and dancers were spot on in each number. I was amazed that such a small community could do such a splendid rendition of "Hello, Dolly!" We cannot wait until their next offering!
