For over 25 years as studio owner and professional photographer, Lela Whiddon has been specializing in studio and location portraits, business head shots and commercial product photography. She has received many awards for her portrait and fine art photography, both on the state and national level.

The Professional Photographers of Louisiana is an Affiliate Member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the world's largest non-profit photography association organized for professional photographers, by professional photographers.and with over 25,000 creative members in 54 countries.
I joined The Professional Photographers of Louisiana 9 years ago. I have been a member, board member, secretary, vice president, served on many committee's and now president. When I first joined the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, I never dreamed in a million years that I would be a real professional photographer let alone your president.
PPLA offers a variety of membership opportunities. Whether you are just starting out, or a full time photographer, or event a student of photography. You are invited to join PPLA and not only learn from other great photographers, but maybe teach others a thing or two. Everyone is here to learn and grow and support their fellow photographer.
Shall be limited to individual residents of the State of Louisiana who are actively engaged in the profession of portrait or commercial photography, including movies, either as studio owners, persons owning their own business (individual or in partnership with others), managerial employees of industrial firms, managerial employees of partnerships or individuals, engaged in photography, instructors in photography employed in educational institutions or conducting recognized photographic schools, managerial employees of newspapers, news syndicates, magazine departments, photographic journals, etc., and division or section chiefs in any Federal, State or Local Government photographic department or bureau.
