So, I wanted to leave no stone unturned in preparation for my 3rd Ultramarathon. I had read a lot online and had an idea of what my training zones were and how much nutrition my body needed, but I still felt like I had been guessing based off of other people's experiences. Guessing I was! After my V02 Max testing we realized that my training zones were way off! It allowed me to run at higher intensities to train because it turned out I had a much higher max heart rate than most people my age. This has been a very positive experience and relationship, and one I hope to continue in the future. The testing (V02max and sweat) and counselling helped me feel so much better about my runs. After working with Chris and following her recommendations I had some of my best race results in both the marathon and half marathon. Thanks to Chris, I improved my swim technique and mental focus for the swim portion of the triathlon. The Endurance Edge offers multiple options to improve your swim technique. I completed the underwater swim analysis and swim lesson. I also attended several group coached open water swim sessions at Jordan Lake. I recently competed in the White Lake Fall International Triathlon on Sunday September 12. I attribute my 3rd place finish in my age group to my improved swim time. This would not have been possible if I had not received coaching from the Endurance Edge.

Every session with Chris was friendly, professional, and applicable. It was very helpful to get the breakdown of macros needed each day during training, and to know the carbs/hr for training and racing, and fueling timing. This took all the guess work out. The genetic testing was especially insightful. I highly recommend Chris at Endurance Edge for sports nutrition consulting!

Sarah from The Endurance Edge was fabulous when working with my 17 year old daughter. My daughter ( who is very much into fitness) asked me to look into someone who could help her gain more knowledge about food and how she can optimize her workouts along with generally eat better. Sarah did just that! They met over zoom for an hour and then met at a grocery store for an hour. It was awesome!

Great results working with The Endurance Edge on nutrition and weight loss. I stayed with the meal plan as provided by Chris Newport. Within 2.5 months I had lost 23 Lbs. I have worked with Chris Newport both as a Nutritionist and as a Triathlon coach over the past 18 months. She helped me complete my first Triathlon in under a year after finishing chemotherapy. She even helped me get it done during COVID by planning a personal Triathlon for me. She helped me monitor all my fitness markers, stay accountable to a fitness plan, and eventually a nutrition plan.
